The single player campaign on Bad Company 2 is absolutely fantastic, so in that case I prefer that. The online is good, but I prefer the multiplayer aspect of Modern Warfare 2, even though it is riddled with campers, there is just something about it that I prefer.

Both the campaign stories are a bit stupid. But the multiplayer on both is quite good.
I just think that on battlefield it's slightly better because you dont get gunned down by one lone sniper, the whole team isn't dead within 5 seconds because of one stray grenade or grenade launcher, one guy with a ump can't run around killing everyone every round.
On Battlefield it's so heavily teamwork based. Basically if you don't work as a team then your team is going to lose, every time. I love that aspect of it, as I play with people quite a lot.
So, for me it has to be Battlefield Bad Company 2. Just because the multiplayer is so teamwork essential.

Then you would know that the maps are actually small. They are small for Battlefield standards, so your point is moot because the maps are the right size.

lolwut?
The maps on BC1 were a lot bigger, and I mean a lot bigger, compared to these maps. I'm serious about this. The maps on BC2 are tiny compared to the ones on the first one. In BC1, you had breathing room, but on the second one, you don't because Rush is way more linear in the part of attacking the bases, no room to roam around. Conquest is in a linear fashion, also. The flags are not spread apart far away from each other, they're in a straight line on some of the maps.

MW2 is a disgrace to CoD multiplayer. Even WaW (world at war) multiplayer was much better than this game. The single player was incredible but the multiplayer bombed big time, which is what makes CoD. It felt like i was playing a completely different game. The only thing that somewhat salvaged MW2 in my mind was the map pack, which is AMAZING.

bad company 2's story was fun but it no way can it compete with the empiclly cinematic styling of Modern warfare 2
the multiplayer mode from MW2 was indeed very good, similar to traditional call of duty online, with an enclosed arena featuring or around 12 players.
BC2 on the other hand opens a world of possiblilitys towards online warfare being more realistic with the addition of various vehicles and much larger levels.
combatting this affect although is the amount of detail that has been put into guns and envrionments in MW2 compared to the exact same models of houses being dotted across the map. take for example the Scar assault rifle on MW2 and copare it to BC2, bad company's looks like it has come straight out of a shoddy cartoon.
the term "quick match" does not seem to exist on Bad company either with various games lasting to the lengths of 30 minutes compared to MW2's 10 minutes, ok if you've got the time to sit down but i dunno i get bored bored by dying that many times in one battle trying to detonate a bomb in a small shack, wouldn't that be seen as a waste of assets?
BC2 does however seem less easier to noob in, camping in one spot is useless as the frontline is constantly moving (compared to that stupid Heroin farm standoff in MW2's Afghan.) The game does also give you a more naive way of playing, since it's more realistic in the sense that you can't sprint that 100m stretch in 2 seconds with the "Marathon" perk enabled, taking out that one guy can take up most of your time and munitions (which resembles real infantry soldiers with in their lifetime will have around 13 confirmed kills, not your usual COD gallavant of 40+) you get an "idk if i'm killed now cus i got that guy" also with less visual lag (if you get to log in it seems the same connection) which will leave you in a much less pissy mode of "i shot that guy twice point blank with the M1014 shotgun!! how the F**K can he just knife me?! i almost had chopper gunner!" frenzy that is ultimatly followed by your dad coming up the stairs to calm the hell down or he'll take the damn thing off you.
i have however had great significant problems of actually getting conected to the Bad Company servers, the game itself can't be put to blame as MW2 probably has the most dedicated servers in any online game and you have EA to rely on for your BD2 servers (so in technical terms "your fucked")
overall with the story mode in BC being too free roaming to have any locked cinematic scenes i would say that story is better on MW2. multiplayer is harder to pin, i personally wouln't use BC as my primary online game, what with the dodgy server access and all, for me the novelty of flying a UAV drone has worn off and would just stick to the infantry frontire of MW2 that you will most likely always be able to get a match for.
Wow, that was a long message...

So you're saying that a level 1 has the same weapons as a level 70?
No I'm saying that the level one can level up and get the same weapons, and that the seperation between the different weapons is minor. Since the Model 1887s were patched the higher levels don't have a significant advantage

look, when you play a game, you play it to have fun, not to be frustrated. Whenever i play mw2, i end up wanting to kill myself, because you try and rush, you get killed by a camper or some fuck with painkiller on that can take 10 UMP shots and not die. I dont get that in anyother game, cod4 was perfect, a tenth of the amount of campers compared to mw2.
BC2 on the other hand actually takes skill and team work, and makes for a fun and rewarding experience. I never feel fucking pissed of when playing, as there is no distinct advantage to any person, and the maps are big, so what? it means a more open and realistic game style. also, in bc2 you get to blowshit up, so thats epic (:

If you compare the MW2 maps with BC2 maps. I think you'll find that the biggest few on MW2 are about the same as the smallest ones of BC2. Besides, the maps need to be bigger when you've got more people, tanks, helicopters and much more gameplay going on.

Lol, everyone knows that you can knife down chain linked fences with a combat knife. :D That's pretty dumb to call that unrealistic when MW2 has perks that are unrealistic, i.e. commando pro. And the graphics are actually better than MW2's, MW2's look like MW1's. It's recycled graphics with some improvements.

Of course it's unrealistic that you can break a metal fence with one slash of a knife, isn't it worse though - that on Mw2, you can jump out of a 50ft window and be totally fine, Throw grenades ridiculously far, be able to see people on a 'heartbeat sensor' etc..

Switching from MW2 to BC2 is difficult. Bad Company is more difficult, larger, and faster.
Modern Warfare 2 has no respawn time, which is great. It's one of the few things that makes this game more fun than BC2. Perks are also fun to unlock and leveling doesn't take nearly as long. However, that's about all MW2 has to offer over BC2.
Bad Company 2 has better graphics, better game play, less lags/glitches, more strategy, more vehicles, etc. While it's difficult to improve right away, it's worth sticking with. My only problem is the respawn time. I do not have the patience to wait 10 seconds.

Oh, I am sorry if it came across that way. It most certainly is not a perfect game, it's one of the closest to come to that though.
The Mw2 graphics are not better, in terms of realism. They may be more clear, however Bc2 graphics are some of the most real of any game ever.

I think the fact that almost everyone snipes is a good thing, that means that if you're a decent sniper you will spot them and just go on a rampage. I do understand that can be irritating if you aren't a fan though.

What you just said is ridiculous. Sniping is a problem, especially when half your team are snipers, and they don't arm the bombs or take control points. And I play on hardcore, so spotting is useless. Sniping in BC2 is an epidemic because people think they're "cool" because they snipe, when they look like douchebags because they won't use any other kit in the fucking game. I rarely swear, so that implies how much I'm annoyed by it.

Ah, I never thought about the objective based game modes.
I only ever play hardcore Conquest, so I don't really think about arming bombs and things. I play the support role of sniping the other snipers and the opposition that are trying to capture the points. Sometimes when I'm a medic I revive everyone, that's about it though.
Well, obviously it doesn't work if everybody in every squad in the game snipes. That rarely happens, for me anyway, there's almost always a medic and an assault in my squad or at least on my team.

Too many people snipe, though. You just proved my point. Do something else, play assault or medic more or engineer.
Sniping on BC1 was fun because not everyone did it. It was also more fun because the maps were a lot bigger, so that discouraged a lot of people from sniping because they knew they wouldn't get a lot of kills.
Here's the thing, if you are not doing a lot of help with your team by sniping, then don't snipe. If you get like five kills per game, that should tell you not to snipe. Now, I don't know how you do, so I don't directly saying this to you, but I am saying this to you, none the less.

Its a pain when everyone is sniping, because you cant get a decent game without those bastard snipers reuining it.

Well, put it this way Jake.
Depending on the map and the state of the opposition, I normally get about 20+ kills. So I would imagine that does help my team. I do know that there are stupid snipers that just sit in one spot and get like 2 kills then nothing for the rest of the game. I'm not like those, I generally push forward with the rest of my squad as we capture the points... Much more like an urban sniper :)

All right, Ben. You're good sniper, but remember to move after each kill. :P
And I forgot a whole word in my other post, lol... So I might have confused some people...

And that is why you should try out the other classes. That is exactly why they are there. Other than to even out the game.

look, when you play a game, you play it to have fun, not to be frustrated.
Mw2 takes skill, only if you want to win every game.
Search and Destory for example. I have a clan and we're experts at it. We make out a plan depending on what the other team does and what they use in the first two rounds. Then we counter everything they try to do, and we win every time.
One example is we'll lure the other team. We'll have 4 people using riot shield with blast shield, they'll be the distraction. Then we'll have two other people wait for the other team to try and get the riot shielders. When the other team does come the guys with the guns kill them. Ta-da, Strategy

That's not strategy. That's just you shooting people in the back.
I don't believe that it takes skill at all. I like to think I'm pretty good at Mw2 when I'm in the mood and it is so simple to just go round and shoot people in the back.

Running around over-using an aspect of the game for one team and making it almost impossible to win for the other. It makes the game unfair.

It doesnt make the game unfair, like he said its a strategy to win a game, basically your saying football managers shouldnt make tactics up so that they cant try and beat out the opposition.

Not at all, it's like a football manager having 9 goalkeepers and 2 strikers.

Giles
May 15th, 2010, 06:22 PM
1. (noun) scheme, strategy
an elaborate and systematic plan of action
2. (noun) strategy
the branch of military science dealing with military command and the planning and conduct of a war
That, related to MW2 though.
Generally, just a team of people working together and not abusing the various aspects of the game (ie, Riot shields, Grenade Launchers, Camping, Spraying etc.), especially riot shields.

Battlefield or Modern Warfare 2,
why do I keep seeing this in every public forum I have joined xD?
Well this all depends...
In Modern Warfare 2, it is all fast paced action and some strategic aspects.
In Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Communication and Teamwork is the key.
Some people may say that team work is actually required in MW2, but yet in MW2, your whole team could suck except for one person and you, and you could still win. Lets say you are in a game, you team sucks except for one guy and you. You get some kills, and this guy is just mauling the other team. You get some more kills, and your teammate gets hot and orders in a Tactical Nuke. One person can make a difference in MW2, but in BF:BC2, if there is only one good player on your team, you might as well just leave...
It takes A LOT of team work to win in BFBC2. Why dont you just watch this video to help your decision:

There is some mild language, but i think is good for us gamers

wow i just made the vote 50/50 i would say MW2 BUT the game developers apparently know nothing about firearms or bullet dynamics. For example i go into a room with the p90 and put 20ish rounds into the chest of a guy with a USP .45 guess who won ........him a p90 uses an anti-armor round thus 2 shots should have killed him but no luck.

The game is vastly inaccurate on most firearms points. The accurate range of pretty much every gun is way too large for a start.

Yeah... is that why the range on MW2 is like what 4 million metres?
That's just an example, you can take almost any weapon on there and prove something wrong.
