Heya, I just wanted to know if anyone could provide a really simple and easy to understand comparison between the English and American Education Systems.
For example what do English "class years" compare to American "grades". And is Sixth Form what American's call College, or is American College the same as University or what?
This would help a lot and maybe help a lot of other people, this will help when watching English TV/Films when you're an American or American TV/Films when you're English (like me).
Thanks to anyone who can help :D

I'm not familiar with the British educational system (other than Hogwarts of course :)) but this is what I've been able to find.
Assuming normal progression (not skipping a grade or being left back), One enters first grade between the ages of 6 and 7 and is equivalent to the British year two. If one successfully completes the course of study, they move on to the next grade the following year. Upon the completion of 12th grade, one may proceed to enter a college or university if they've been accepted. Every child in the US is guaranteed the right to complete through 12th grade, free of charge at public schools.
If you have any more specific questions I'll be happy to help. :)

Year Ten: 14 - 15
Year Eleven: 15 - 16
(Sixth Form - optional)
