I wondered When you could really say that you have stopped cutting, your opinion of course.
I was wondering because I haven't cut I a REALLY long time (for me anyways) and I was wondering if I could actually say that I have stopped cutting.
However I was questioning myself because I really think about a lot, especially at the moment.
So yeah I wondered, mabie from last cut or from when you dont think about it anymore ...
:) xx

mmm... i dont know...
i'd say when you don't feel the urges to cut anymore, because you can say "i stopped cutting" when it's actually only been 1 day. i'd say when you dont feel the urges, not when you stop thinking about it.
i think :S

When the compulsion is largely faded or gone, and one no longer needs to actively resist it.
When one knows that turning to self-harm as a coping method again is highly unlikely.
There is no distinct amount of time, as with most other things - you will know when you are ready to consider yourself officially recovered.

When you no longer need it as a coping mechanism.
Well for me anyways.
Personal choice is personal choice, you could say months, years, anything you want and say you've stopped. Depends on the person.

I think it is when you don't have to consciously resist turning to it when in an emotionally charged situation.
But, as has been said, it is down to personal choice.

For me I'd say when I go a whole day without thinking about it even once... I think I set myself an impossible task there :hmm:
