A lot of guys get nervous about physicals. There is nothing to worry about. The doctor will examine your penis, but it's quick and it really isn't a big deal. You don't have anything worry about.

I used to have many physicals in which I'd refuse some types of exams (for example, the Hernia exam). After a while, the doctor explained how necessary it was. Eventually I gave in, but I requested that my mom had to leave the room.

Things that will happen in your exam:


Medical History
Vitals (pulse, blood pressure, etc)
Body exam (includes feeling around, muscles, etc. It will also include a genital exam if you are in peak stages of puberty. This is also where the "cough" comes in)
TB test
Anemia Test (finger prick)
Getting caught up on any shots you don't have.

Sometimes, this can vary...but if you're getting a standard physical, this is what you should expect.

It is COMMON to get an erection and the doctor is completely used to this. They experience this with almost all of their teen patients and this is part of life.

Did you know that GUYS are more self conscious about physicals than girls. Girls rarely stress over these things. They have to get naked in front of a doctor from time to time, too. Actually, they have to MORE often.

The main reason, above all, that the doctor needs to see your penis and testicles is to make sure you're properly entered in puberty and don't need medical aid with it. They also need to check for hernias or any abnormalities, too.

When the time comes, he just says "drop your pants", you drop them, he feels around, and then it's over. You pull your pants back up, there's nothing to worry about.

FYI, you're probably not gonna get a boner. There's no reason to. When it comes time to pull your pants down, it's so quick and just "whatever" that it doesn't matter.

If you do get a boner, they're not gonna say anything or act awkward. Just act normal, because they're used to it.

of course its ok to be nervous its human to be nervous of someone you dont trust that much touching your body esipically yuor private parts so theres nothing to worry about everyone would get nervous if someone was touching there private parts that dont trust even i would plus its also the fear of someone stepping into your personal space that also why you nervous because as human beinns we like our personal space some people more than so its ok to be nervous

It is all right to be nervous about a physical especially when one is first in puberty. With that being said remember that you will be seeing a professional, and it is not like you are in the locker room at school being judged. The doctor is there to help you through your questions, and you have to be honest with him/her. It is not like the doctor and his/her staff is going to talk about you, and you are just one of many patients he/she has seen over the course of time. The doctor has to make sure you are developing all right as puberty is the last growth phase of your life which is why it has to be done right. Be honest and frank with the answer to the questions you are asked, and don't be nervous as such physicals are really not a big deal at all.

its totally normal to be nervous about any medical apointment, i got nervous about my MRI b/c they injected me with this weird liquid and it felt like i was pissing myself

You have nothing about which to worry, and it is going to take a lot to get an erection in a doctor's office. Even if you get an erection there it is not a big deal as no one is going to say anything. You are dealing with professionals, and you will have no problems.

It is normal to be nervous about it. I had mine this year and the doctor checked my private parts and i was really worried that i am going to do something embarresing, but at the end, it really isn't a big deal at all.

its perfectly normal for most guys to get nervous especially since you're docs gotta grab youre bits but dont worry it goes by quick you wont even notice it ... ok you probably will but it still goes by quick
