Hi im 15, nearly 16 and I have had the same amount of armpit hair for about a year now and Ive not grown much taller either. Is it possible that puberty is slowing down and will pick up again later? Also, the right arm pit has a good nit more than the left. I had to take corticsteriods when I just turned 15 because I had Bell's Palsy. Any help would be greatly apreiciated.
Thanks

Puberty is different for everyone, you will finish puberty the same as everyone else even if it is going slow, I am 15 and have no arm-pit hair so no need to worry.

Don't worry, you'll probably get it later on. And some people never get much arm pit hair. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

puberty stops and goes all the time
you can grow a foot in a month, and go four years without growing again. as for the armpit hair, same thing, so dont worry.

Puberty is completely unique to everyone.
Some people have "delayed" puberty which means they won't naturally start puberty on their own on time or they may start puberty and suddenly stop. This can occur based on a sudden weight increase or being overweight before puberty has started.
My current thought is you just won't get much more armpit hair. Your can continue growing in height until around age 18 and most people have a final spurt around age 16-17. Keep in mind hair grows throughout your lifetime, so you may notice you get a lot of armpit hair a while down the road...let's say age 25.
If you're truly concerned, you're around the age in which is it necessary to see the doctor annually for a full physical. Based on looking at you, he will determine if you're in the correct stage of puberty for your age. He can also find and detect anything else that could be wrong (like hernias, which are extremely common in teenage boys). If he sees anything delayed about your puberty, he'll issue some synthetic testosterone to give you a boost. This is issued via a shot, a lotion, or a pill (rare).

Look at your family and see if they're hairy... it should be a fair indicator of how you'll be. It has to do with genetics and all that stuff.

Corticosteriods slow growth (almost to a halt) so that will be the reason. Your growth should pick up again shortly after you stop taking the steroids.

In answer to your actual question, which most people seem to of missed so have just replied with a general puberty statement...
Yes, it is possible for the process of puberty to slow down, or even seem to stop - then pick up again. It's all do to with hormones, if it slows down then there's less. If it speeds up then there's more. It's nothing to be worried about.

Actually, I responded to the question quite well with a statement not related to puberty at all.
