How harmful would 128 mg of that be on system? Are we talking a fatal response? All my research has said that it's fatal in large doses, but it has yet to definite what a large dosage is.

Well the daily max dosage is 24mg per day, so im guessing 128mg all at once is enough to if not kill you, make you seriously ill. But i guess it depends how powerful the drug itself is and the person thats taking it. Whether it be an adult, or a child and what sort of health issues they have already.

That's all the information I could find myself. But thanks for trying.

All I have to say is:

Use as prescribed.

Don't take more than it says...for any reason.

They effects are going to be different in everyone that takes it. Even the recommended dosage may cause complications within the body. It appears to me that this is used in allergy medication and I've noticed that the recommended dosage is normally 12-24mg MAX every 24 hours. With this being said, 128mg of this is more than enough to cause serious complications such as CNS depression (including sedation, apnea, CV collapse), CNS (Central Nervous System) stimulation (including insomnia, hallucination, tremors (shaking), convulsions), tinnitus (hearing things within your ear but no external sounds), blurred vision, dizziness, ataxia (lack of muscle movement), hypotension (low blood pressure)

Of course, with 128mg of Chlorpheniramine Maleate, a death is a great risk.

The best I can break this down is that Chlorpheniramine Maleate is an antihistamine. When one has allergies, allergens cause an allergic reaction and excessive histamines are produced in the body causing swelling, itchiness, watery eyes, etc. When an antihistamine is taken, it blocks the histamine receptors -in this case is the H1 receptor which targets the Central Nervous System -and a couple others- The H1 receptor is responsible for Bronchoconstriction (closing of the airway to the lungs) hives, pain, itchiness, etc. This prevents histamines being produced, minimizing the symptoms of allergies. What I gather from this, is if this effects your CNS and has this much of an effect on your bodies defense system, 128mg would prove lethal in the worse case scenario.

Regulus is absolutely right, please only take the prescribed amount. I'm no genius but that's just a little information gathered.
