Well, I used to think the same when my parents did this to me and my sister. But the more i thought about it the fairer it seems. Your little brother has to rely on your parents to buy him things, he has no source of income himself. You however are able to go out and get a small job such as a paper route to earn yourself a bit of money. With them doing this you'll be able to appreciate money a bit more when you're older. You'll probably find when your little brother gets to 13 they'll end up doing the same to him as well.

theres nothing wrong with an allowance man, they could give him like ten twenty bucks a week, but i was a bit more spoiled at his age, so im not sure, im an only child, and now i make my money by myself, whether its working for my moms cleaning up the house, or selling things, hopefully ill get a job soon
ask your parents if you can have an allowance, and if hes 9, like the guy said above me, he probably needs the attention a bit more then you do

Well this is a common problem in families. As you grow older, your parents are learning more and more about what to do and what not to do. They're also being more lenient with your brother because as times change they're much less worried about mistakes. The first child is difficult on them because they don't want to make any mistake. The second child is applied the rules of the first child, and if years aren't too far apart, it usually results in the second child getting things much earlier.

Example: Cell Phones. My sister is 2 years younger. I got a cell phone in 7th grade because I walked home and did extracurriculars after school. My parents insisted that I keep in contact. My sister got one a few months later (while in 5th grade) for no real reason at all. I was pissed but it's just the way things go.
