View Full Version : Moderation before posting in Puberty 101

I see a lot of posts in Puberty 101 forums being locked for either being bumped or for being vulgar or something like that. In fact the sticky says that the threads should be educative, informative. But I hardly see the threads anything like that. I do like the posts to be moderated before getting posted so that only useful posts show up. The moderation strictness should also be high in this matter.

Think of the HUNDREDS and HUNDREDS of posts that would have to be approved by out staff of 16 or so.
This honestly would just make our lives harder.

We would do nothing but approve P101 posts all day. Not a chance.

That would be a literal VT Hell for mods approving posts. P101 gets posted in so many timse it's hard to keep up with. The best thing to do is for members to report them.

ahahahahahahahaha. That's the silliest thing i've ever heard.
moderated P101 posts = insanity within the first five minutes.

i understand where you are coming from. i think the idea of moderating new threads wouldn't be a bad idea. having to moderate each individual post would be unworkable as the staff would be bogged down with this and other parts of the site would then become neglected. however, dirty posts mostly come from dirty threads so moderating new p101 threads maybe a way to reduce it? i do like this idea, however working out whether it would be practical or not is another thing.

It's a relatively good idea. It's just not possible at all and probably never will be.
P101 is posted in and viewed more than any other sub-forum. Probably more than all the other ones put together.

we would do nothing but spend every minute on vt approving and disapproving posts. *Hides*
i agree with stephen though maybe we could do that. monitor the new threads that would be easier

ahahahahahaha...If you're willing to pay for the years of therapy required from reading and approving all of those horrifying p101 posts, then yes, we will.

I think the site needs MORE moderators, but requiring the posts to all be approved before being displayed would be insane.
It would be a good idea if maybe those forum(s) could be "locked" and you must be a member for so long or have so many posts before you're able to use those forums (and are granted access by a moderator or admin) before posting. Maybe moderate the people, not the posts.
Think about it this way. People who are intending on spamming the site will not stick around for 100 or so posts just to spam the Puberty 101 section.

Nor will anyone who needs to be helped by posting in P101, though. We have to tread a fine line between instituting policies to get rid of illicit activity and rule breaking and our fundamental purpose as a forum. What is the point of a discussion board if no one is allowed to discuss on it?

i totally 100% agree with you, but it will drive the mods insane. the P101 Threads move way to fast due to like 90+ people in them, mostly boys P101. i saw around 160 people, 160 PEOPLE in the boys P101 forum. most of them were guests. the puberty forums are full of trolls, there are questions always being asked where that question is already posted below, a lot of the threads dont even make sense, threads are CONSTANTLY getting locked all the time, and the fricken bumps, etc etc etc. i dont go in the puberty forums anymore because of that. and most of my questions have been answered or are already posted. so why bother just posting it again and have it get locked or something?
This would just be too insane to put up with. i would feel so bad for the mods if they had to put up with accepting threads all the time, but i do agree with your idea.
