Internet connectivity status icon

So anyone who uses Vista knows about the icon at the bottom right hand corner of the task bar showing if you have an internet connection or not. So I just noticed that I don't have one, yet am completely able to access the internet. Does anyone know how to get this back? I'm thinking that restarting the system would work.

If it's displayed the 'globe' icon before, then yes, I'd think a restart would work.
But there's also the possibility that another network device is set as the primary, and your snagging internet from a secondary device, which could also cause what you're describing.
