He was called to the scene of a crime,
He pulled up in his four-door Crown Victoria,
He had his lights aflash, his dashboard cam
Was on recording every moment
And he was ready to prove that he was
More than they thought he'd ever be,
He was a rookie cop but he aspired to be so much more,
He aspired to be one of the ones who'd save the world.
He pulled open his door looked out into the dark,
He saw nothing, he saw no one,
It was all too still to be sure though,
So he took a few steps, knew something was wrong,
Turned around and then a gunshot was heard.
He went down, on the ground,
First on his knees, then on his chest,
He was laying on his stomach,
Sprawled out in a manner unfurling,
He was ruined, he was caked with blood
And covered in mud and there's no way
His heart could still manage to pump...
He was KOA it wasn't meant to be,
But it was just another 'lure-a-cop-out' scheme,
Another pointless killing for the sake of thrilling
Some wannabe gangster who doesn't know
Machetes from strips of confetti.
They say within fifteen minutes when
They tried to radio him and he didn't respond
They sent a unit to check
On his status, they were emphatic
They figured the rookie had done
Something dramatic.
But he was KOA it wasn't meant to be,
It was just another 'lure-a-cop-out' scheme,
Another pointless killing for the sake of thrilling
Some wannabe gangster who doesn't know
Machetes from strips of confetti.
Some wanna-be thug addicted to drugs
Who wanted to prove that he was tougher
Than a groove in a nine inch nail
Impaled a cop's legacy unto the ground,
Shot him five times before he even turned all the way around.
And they say they caught the man who did it,
But there are so many Bloods, Crypts, and venomous
Individuals who are residual in habitually slipping
A c-note in the stripper's thong
Or arsenic in the druggie's bong.
(He was KOA it wasn't meant to be,
But it was just another 'lure-a-cop-out' scheme,
Another pointless killing for the sake of thrilling

They can't catch them all
And they don't know for sure
That who they put away
Was a cop murderer,
A criminal extraordinaire
Praised by those plagued with infamy and despair,
Despised by those with badges and hearts,
Despised by those who know where the race ends,
But better yet, where it starts.

It's not over, the world won't sober up,
It's not ever gonna be enough
To just say it'll stop because it won't,
So put two heads together kill two birds
With no stones by not killing at all
But bringing peace
To our violent
KOA-everyday world.
