What do you mean by color?

And the title did get my attention, but I misread it as something else. :P

on the system the wee X logo where it shows how many controllers are plugged in does it have a stanby colour like most appliances go red when turned off?

And yes, you are correct. It's either green or the light turns off on the controller usually, I'm not sure about on the console itself. I might check the next time im using it.

yea because i was just thinking why was there a specific LED included in the system if it wasn't intended for use?

No, it doesn't have a specific color LED for standby mode. I really don't see the need for one either, the lack of picture on your TV should be good enough. :p

then why was there one installed and is in use in the case of the Red ring. why would it be included in the manufacturing of the console unless it had some planned use, my conspirocy in a nut shell. the same applies to the ps3 with it's yellow light of death. there is no yellow LED used except for this system malfuncion, al most makes you think they where planned procedures. unless of course in the ps3 it is the red and blue LEDs active at the same time causing the colour mutation but those two colours don't mix.

i'm not picking on which system is better here, i am meerly pointing out the suspicious similarities into these system crashes.

THERE IS A STANDBY!!!! Not on the Xbox itself, but on the power brick (and yes it is a brick :P). Orange means there's power but turned off, green means it's on.

You have a point. Whats the purpose of putting the red LED in the 360. Its like its planned. Like every system is set to go off at a certain point, but what benefit would they get out of peoples systems breaking? Because every xbox 360 comes with a manufacture warranty.

What's the point of putting any warning lights/sirens in any piece of hardware?
Just in case it breaks.
The red lights are used for more than just the "RROD", it also alerts you to system faults, & overheating problems. Plus it can give you more insight as to what the problem is if there's not an on-screen message.

It's kind of like the lights in a car, car manufacturers don't expect faults to happen, but they include the lights just in case.
