Chemically Straightening Hair

I need to know what is the best way to do this, my dad argues it ruins your hair but I say it grows back. Also how long would it last and would my curly hair immediately start growing in?

And thats how it is straightened. I just don't like using a straighten, tbh its too hair with my hair. It becomes an afro and then it is almost impossible to do the back.

You can get your hair chemically straightened?
My hairs curly too and I have to straiten it everyday, such a pain.

Oh yeah and if you end up not chemically straightening it I know how to fix that afro problem. What I do is straighten it, then I put leave in conditioner in my hair.
I straighten it before I go to bed, put in the conditioner, then sleep with a beanie on.
"OMG sleep with a beanie thats weird!!!"
Shut up, it works :P You'll wake up and your hair wont be poofy. Then just fix it a little and you're lookin' sexy.

Ok I knew nothing about this so.... I asked my sister who is a hair stylist, an these are her exact words

" oh my god don't use that crap on your hair" he said it ruins your hair and is a super harsh chemichal, it can take months for your hair to get back to it's natural state, so I would advise you to not do this :P

It is harsh chemical, and it sometimes doesn't even work all the way. But it can ruin your hair. It does grow out, so if you don't like it it'll go back and if you do then you have to touch up the roots just like you do if you dye your hair. But using any chemical will damage your hair, then again so will straightening (my hair breaks and I get split ends a lot cuz I straighten my hair every day).

Yeah, the chemical straighten is called a Brazilian Blowback. You can buy a "Chi" brand straightener if you want. I use those to straighten my hair and it works like a charm.

I have the problem where my hair goes EVERYWHERE and its hard to do. Any tips? And the back is just -.-
