I believe in ghosts, do any of you?
I have sort of an interesting story to tell too.....
One Friday night, like 2 months ago, I passed out in my room at like 5 and at 1 in the morning my brother wakes me up and has me listen to a recording he made in his room. He made the recording cuz he said he was hearing weird noises. When he was making the recording he went ouside for like 8 minutes, and on the recording you could hear a bunch of weird noises. The creepiest ones were a drawer being opened and slammed shut with excessive force, and the other one was footsteps coming from the hall, they sounded like a person running then knocking on the wall and then slowly walking off. And nobody else was awake at this time. and since we have a dog and five cats, we were able to debunk(disproove) the footsteps as paranormal but rather the dog instead, because the noise sounded like a dog walking down the hall (it couldn't have been that cats because their footsteps are more consistent) Anyways after we get done listening to it, me and my brother decide to make another one. So we both go outside and we bring our dog outside too. and we wait there for about another 8 mins. we go back inside and we listen to the new recording. This time we heard a little girl laughing (and no tv's were on) and we heard the same footstep noises but this time you heard two knocks and then the footstep noises ran off. so after were done with the recordings my brother goes to bed but i stayed up because i wasnt tired (I'd already had 8 hours of sleep) So to pass the time by i go on the computer in my room and things were pretty quiet around the house. And then at about 730 or so im still sitting on the computer and out of the corner of my eye i notice something, so i look at the bottom of my door and i saw a shadow passing in front of it, the shadow stands right in front of my door for about 5 seconds and then walks off towards the livingroom, i heard no footsteps. so i quickly get up and go to the living room and nobody (not even my dog) was there. I knew it couldnt have been a cat because a cat couldnt have casted that large of a shadow.
All in all it was a fun night. I'm pretty comfortable with supernatural stuff.
Do you believe in ghosts?
Do you think my house is haunted?
What are some stories of yours?

I'm not a believer in ghosts or other supernatural events because you cant reliably discern that it's not a psychological event, similar to a placebo. Also, when you listen to a recording, it can sound like something but is it really that something? For example, for the footsteps, it can certainly be an animal, such as a raccoon on the roof, which could be picked up by the recording device as footsteps. Also, for a little girl laughing, perhaps there was a living girl laughing outside or perhaps it's an animal or something else making such a sound. For example, foxes can make a sound that sounds like a human is laughing at you when really it's the fox. Alternatively, it could be a bird. Or, it could indeed be a supernatural event. To me, there's a mountain of other plausible explanations and then there's the one small supernatural one. If you can disprove the other ones and through another argument, prove it's supernatural, then I'll believe you but I've never heard of anyone doing such a thing.
I just find that whenever someone gives an example of an event and claims it's due to supernatural things, there's really no way to show it is not something else, it is not due to one's beliefs or other psychological events, it is not due to examining ambiguous and distorted information, etc... .

@INFERNO, Couldn't have been a racoon or animal on the roof or somebody outside, It was January and i live in Minnesota lol plus we were both outside, we would have been able to see the person if there was one
and I've also done some call and responses as well. I have another really good story but that one is way too long to tell over text

I believe in them. Some people think I'm weird because I believe in stuff I've never seen... I just tell them, 'Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it's not there... like air."
Anyway, yes, i do believe in spirits - not necessarily ghosts.

Fine, perhaps not a raccoon but my point was there's certainly a possibility it could have been an animal, trees, wind, etc... that could be responsible.

I'm confused, if one believes in spirits, then why not ghosts? Do you see spirits? If so, then your argument of if you cant see it doesn't mean it's not there doesn't hold up.

Logically, no, I don't believe in ghosts.
But I've had some very hard to explain events at my dad's house. In the dead of night when I was younger, and always when I was home alone, I would hear this creepy and strange lullaby playing, same one every time, and I could hear footsteps on the second story as well as footsteps coming down the stairs, though nobody was there; My dog Holly was in the same room with me, and would bark whenever that tune would play. And the house is fairly secluded, so street noise is ruled out. Then another time, middle of the day, it was my friend Katie and I there alone, and we both heard that same eerie lullaby, the one that I always heard, along with the footsteps. Some lady had died in the upstairs master bedroom closet years ago after her husband locked her in there, and we were convinced that she must have lingered there for some unknown reason. Sometimes when I'm there visiting, I still hear that lullaby. I would say that it's all in my head since I have a history with auditory and visual hallucinations, but seeing as my friend Katie heard it too that one time, that still makes me iffy on the idea.

Who knows. I really don't.

O_o Wow, Steph that's freaky. I don't know whether I believe in ghosts. Personally i feel there could be a reasonable explanation, but I leave my mind open to it. You can't really make a valid judgement if you don't know.

Yeah I see what you mean, after all, you have to be a critic before you can be a believer.
We also picked up the sound of whistling a song too and like I said nobody was awake, nobody was outside, and the tvs were off

I think they're different beigns entirely.
And it does add up. You can't see air - but it's there. Maybe I'm wrong, but I just believe it...

There is no such thing as air.
I believe that there is something that we don't understand. Something that is there but cannot, or has not, been seen nor heard by anyone. I don't believe in the stereotypical "woooo" ghosts, just something that is there.
All the scientist in me tells me it's a load of shit, something keeps thinking in there though.

Spirit Orbs, Poltergeist, Ghost, machine and electronic spirit, white whirls, specters, apparition, rods, vortex(not related to white whirls), shadow ghost and etc. They are categorized in ghosts.
Each have different stories and different reasons. Skeptics assign this to psychological and even based on geographical factor.
Believers do believe in it.
I don't, but I don't deny the moving chair and shaking door knobs. Each have its own case and reason for such phenomenon.
I did a little bit research on it. Any question regarding Ghosts, I am here to help.

I do, mostly because of past experiences and glimpses of things out of the corner of my eye.
I remember the first paranormal event I encoutered. I was five and playing out in the fields behind my house, there was a lose rabid dog about and I wasn't supposed to go as far from the house as I did. The dog was seen about a mile away from our hamlet and the woman were keeping the kids inside, out of the way of the men, who were out watching for it. Anyways, I was the only one not accounted for and they were out looking for me. I was creeping around in the grass and pretending I was a tiger, then I heard a growl. I froze and turned slowly. The dog was there and it was foaming at the mouth, and had a weird look in its eyes. I remember trying to remain quiet and invisible, but the dog had spotted me. I was working up a scream when I was thrown backwards into the air just as the dog lunged for me. There was a gunshot and then it fell forward. My dad was staring at me, as were the others. I was pinned to the ground and couldn't move. It scared me at the time, now it just intrigues me. o.0
I suppose that's why I believe in the paranormal. Its caught my curiousity. -shrugs-

Yes, spectral Animals. This one is called Spectral Hound.
Black Dog is more or less clear, and looks like a moving smog. Not this, but yeah, it is one of them callous creatures.

You do know that when you see things out the corner of your eye, they have significantly less detail and since it moves fast (assuming so) the detail is even worse. Maybe it was a ghost or some other supernatural being but it could have been many other things.

I'm a bit confused how this has anything to do with paranormal activity. A dog was going to attack and your father or someone else shot the dog, presumably while trying to look for you. I'm not understanding the paranormal activity with that.

It said she was thrown back in the air right as the dog was about to attack.

@OP: Maybe the noises you were hearing on the recording could have been your brother's work to scare you? Have you ever even seen a ghost?
