Fred Waldron Phelps, Sr. (born November 13, 1929) is an American pastor who is the founder of the Westboro Baptist Church (WBC), an independent Baptist church based in Topeka, Kansas, which is notorious for its anti-gay protests, claiming that most natural disasters and terrorist attacks are God's punishment for a society that tolerates homosexuality. The church is monitored as a hate group by the Anti-Defamation League and Southern Poverty Law Center. Many of Westboro's pickets revolve around the play The Laramie Project; Phelps says he consistently sends his followers across the country to picket every performance he finds out about. The play documents the reaction of the people of Laramie, Wyoming, to the murder of Matthew Shepard. (wikipedia.org).
Phelps is a character in the play and is portrayed negatively. When the play was made into a movie by HBO, Phelps and the WBC traveled to New York City to picket the HBO home offices with signs reading "United You'll Fall." Said Phelps:
“ The Laramie Project is a tawdry bit of banal fag melodrama—sordid, cheap, unaffecting, drearily predictable—without the least artistic or literary merit or redeeming social value. Indeed, its only purpose is to promote sinful, soul-damning sodomy by playing on the sick, maudlin emotions of doomed, godless America and thereby to recruit ill-bred teenagers to lives of sin, shame, disease, death and hell." How does this mean they are banned? Well, they were going to the U.K. to picket this play because it deals with homosexuality.
Matthew Wayne Shepard (December 1, 1976 – October 12, 1998) was a 21-year-old student at the University of Wyoming who was tortured and murdered near Laramie, Wyoming in October 1998. He was attacked on the night of October 6–7, and died at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado, on October 12 from severe head injuries (wikipedia.org).
During the trial, witnesses stated that Shepard was targeted because he was gay. Shepard's murder brought national and international attention to the issue of hate crime legislation at the state and federal levels. (wikipedia.org).

Who in the world would want to murder someone because of their sexuality? That's just fucked up.
He was described by his father as "an optimistic and accepting young man who had a special gift of relating to almost everyone. He was the type of person who was very approachable and always looked to new challenges. Matthew had a great passion for equality and always stood up for the acceptance of people's differences." Now, these two assholes are "supposedly" religious and christians. They follow Gods law and the bible. The thing that i want to know is, why are two "religious" people so hateful, and full of discrimination towards other people?
When they picket certain places, most of their signs say: GOD HATES FAGS, AMERICA IS DOOMED, GOD HATES AMERICA, THANK GOD FOR DEAD SOLDIERS, THANK GOD FOR 9/11, YOU'RE GOING TO HELL, etc.
If you fuck ups hate America so much, just leave. They won't. Because they think that they can fix this place up by picketing and what not. How is that going to help when it is just making things a lot more worse than before?
