Concerned about height... It's driving me nuts!

I'm 5'7.5'' (172 cm) and I live in Brazil. I'm about average here. But I'd like to be taller, and it's driving me crazy! All my idols are taller than me. Jimmy Page is 5'11'', Robert Plant is 6'1'', Roger Waters is 6'4''.

That sucks. Although I'm still 15, my doc told me my bone age was 17 y.o. and I'd grow half an inch or a bit more. Problem is I am on Accutane, and this medicine will probably stunt my growth.

I'd like to know how tall you guys from U.S. are, because my dream of live is living there, and I know that 5'7.5'' is short for an american and average height is 5'11''.

Also, I have potential to be handsome. I'm dark blond, thin, white, my eyes have a close color to my hair, all I need is to get rid of these nasty zits and be at least 5'11'' tall.

i'm 5'9 and i'm about everybody and anybody's idol. i wouldn't fret.

5'11 might be 'average' but that means there are a lot of people short.

I'm 5'8, and probably at my full height from a few reasons. Sucks when you're living in a country where "average" is 5'11, right?
Nah. while that's typical, not many people are actually at that height. A lot of the guys I know are 5'6-5'11. It's really not a big deal.
If people are giving you crap, it's probably a joke rather than serious. I've never had anyone say anything serious about me being 'short'.


If it bothers you that much, you can try to 'make up' for it with strength. Get in the gym, yknow?

I'm about 5'11 myself, but listen i was really short when i was 12 and 13 and then when i turned 15 i shot up like a root so i guess it all depends. I think your quite tall for your age, but remember that everyone is different.

Yeah, but it's probably my final height. The doc said my bone age is 17, so there's no expectation to grow up more.

I know I'm a girl. But I can tell you that most guys here are not close to 5'11". I'm 6'0" and I hate it for precisely that reason. But no need to worry, you'll fit right in even if you don't grow at all.

5'7" is not short.
Just wear boots :)
