First time seeing/speaking to my real dad!

Oh my god, I just did it. I sent my real father (not the one I've mentioned before on here, I didn't mention it but he wasn't my real dad, he's only my sister's dad) a message on Facebook! I've never met, spoke to, seen a picture of, or had any contact with him ever before in any shape or form. I don't even know if he knows I exist!

I have no idea how he'll react, all I said was "Hey, my mom has mentioned you to me a few times before, do you remember *my mom's name*?"

She hasn't spoke to him in over ten years, not sure if he'll say "Oh, yeah, I do... you must be my son!" :lol: or "Er, no, who are you?" or what!? Ahh!

I wish you the best of luck man, I know exactly what you're dealing with, only you're fortunate. I grew up with my mom and grandparents. They provided me with the support I needed to succeed and got me to where I am today -good ol' college student- I had never heard of my father, never knew his name, a picture, nothing at all. I wondered what happened, did he forget about me? I'm 18 and in the fall of 09, I found out he died in a canoe accident. I was unable to meet him, say hello to him, nothing at all. You're very lucky to be able to meet him and I wish the best for you man. Although I never got to meet my father, I respect him and miss him -even though I never met him- I found out I had an older step brother and so that's cool. Again, don't blow this opportunity because mine is already gone, make the best of it.

Hey, I enjoyed sharing the same relation with you. Although I never met him, a few days after he died, I found out and cried a lot. Something good came out of it and he'll always be my father, regardless.

I'm very sorry that you never met your dad i also know what it's like to not know your father I didn't know mine until 2 years ago, but i found out he was an alcoholic and quite an asshole. As for you Cody i hope everything works out for you and hope you get to hang out with him and enjoy the times you have missed out on with him.

Thanks, I appreciate it. Things happen for a reason and I know that my father would be happy that my older brother and I finally met and we now have a lifelong relationship.
