Hippie powers, activate!
Anyways, these are things that have always worked great in my experience. Take notice that herbal medicines take longer to work, but there are less volatile chemicals, and these are better for your skin.
Medicines work with usually one or two chemical agents to solve a problem, whereas herbs have hundreds of thousands of chemicals agents working upon each other, leading to more of a long term effect.
-Calendula cream for healing acne scars, and prevents viral infection of broken skin. This especially works well in the colder months.
-Cold compresses of either lavender essential oil, rosewater, or essential oil of witch hazel, 2-3 times daily, in a ratio of 1 part oil, and 10 parts diluting agent (water). This relieves inflammation.
-Tea tree oil, in a lotion or ointment with a 2-5 percent oil concentration. Used as an antiseptic, just use the directions on the label. Be sure not to use it if your allergic to celery or thyme.
-One again, handy 'ole witch hazel. 86 percent witch hazel extract in 14 percent alcohol. This a a favorite of mine, it works as an antibacterial/ astringent, and stops oozing.
You can purchase any of these ingredients at a local health store.
In my experience, these work ample times better than acne creams.
Be sure your not allergic to any of the ingredients, you can do this by taking a small sample and smudging it on the inside of your elbow, then check back 15 minutes later to see if its inflamed.
