Someone keeps on talking to me on Facebook

So someone from my old school who I haven't seen in about 4/5 years is always trying to talk to me on Facebook. I have no interest in them and every time I go on FB they always start talking to me. I don't really want to talk to her though but I don't know how I can stop her talking to me as much. Oh, I have (could be completely unfounded though) suspicions that she likes me in THAT way as well. I'm probably wrong though. I don't really like her in THAT way at all. So then, advice? Am I just being a twat or am I understandable? Thanks.

EDIT: BTW if I just unfriended her or blocked her on FB she would clock what I did and I don't really want to hurt her feelings.

Block her. Simple solution. If she's blocked, you can't hear her cries of dismay towards the blocking.

You can create lists on facebook. Go to account and edit friends, create a list and place this person in that list, and when you get the options on the chat pop up, click go offline to that list.

If you feel uncomfortable speaking with her and you want her to leave you alone completely you can be up front with her and tell her that you feel uncomfortable talking with her about certain things and that would feel better if when you wanted to talk that you talked to her instead of her bombarding you with messages as soon as u logged on. i hope this helps

just tell her u want to be friends and u dont appreciate her "pestering" u, or like sapphire said, ignore her

If you defriend her, it's a pretty clear and obvious message to her. It may hurt her feelings but then again, you ignoring her would hurt her feelings anyways.
