I failed my first test ever on Monday.. :-(
It was a dumb 7 question math test. (I hate tests with hardly any questions)
I think the reason for my failure is that I hardly got any sleep the previous week. Well, that's not quite true.. I got a lot of sleep it just didn't feel like I got any..
I wasn't thinking very well.. I hate math lol.
I know that I know the material that we tested on, because I had no issues with the homework at all, it was easy.. This really annoys me.. Thankfully my teacher will drop the lowest grade so this test won't be a problem because I've gotten A's on all the other tests.
I've got another test today and I still feel like I've gotten no sleep, though I've gotten a whole 10 hours! I'm afraid that I'l fail this one as well, due to lack of being rested. (can't say lack of sleep because I've gotten plenty!)

Little rant is over.

Your not alone I am in remedial math classes it's my worst subject I still don't know how to do algebra and I'm 17 it's very sad. All of my other courses were either AP or extra curricular and i did really well. Don't beat yourself up about it. Just take your time on it there is no rush no one will think your dumb if you take a little longer. When it comes to multiple choice just do a narrow down, which is crossing out the ones that you know are wrong until you find the right answer. When it comes to essays or short answer responses, for me i make them short and sweet i state the answer and exactly why i think that it's the right answer descriptively. Just don't get stressed out about it just breathe and say to yourself when your about to take the test "I can do it" I hope this helps

I don't think you really understood what I was saying..
It's not that I don't know it, because I do, and it's only College algebra.. College algebra is really easy for me. I shouldn't failed. And I didn't rush, I took nearly the entire period of time allotted for the test. None of the questions are multiple choice. I do go into test with the mentality of "I can do it."

I'm a bit surprised you said none of the questions were multiple choice because in all the math courses I've been in, high-school and university, I had only 1 multiple choice test but it was simply for getting into a university course, not for the actual course content.

Perhaps try not studying so hard in that you don't keep studying despite being physically tired or exhausted. Do you study in a group with people? I've found it's very helpful for any course.

Hmm, well he, my teacher, has never put a multiple choice question on any of his tests so far.
I don't study excessively, if I'm tired, I'll go to sleep. Though, sleep doesn't really do anything for me, no matter how much I get.. Last week I got about 10 hours each day. No change between that and a week where I got 3 hours or less each night.
I don't study in a group, I don't know anyone in the class, and they all have their stupid clicks.. But I know all the material. My teacher knows I know all the material. I'm the only one in the entire class who answers the questions in class. Hehe my teacher says "I'm no fun" because I get all the answers so quickly, and get them all right. When ever he presents us with a problem and tells us to solve it, my hand is always the first one up by about 3 minutes. I know what I'm doing in this class.
