this is a big change but,I think the site should only allow 13 to 17 year olds not 13 to 19 year olds beacause girls be adult at about 15 and boys be adults at about 17

In physical terms they might be, but in maturity they might not. This site will be here for any 13-19 year old who needs advice for their troubles or are looking to give advice. This is VirtualTeen, and the rule of being 13-19 is fitting and will never change.

the website is for teens. A teenager runs from 13-19. Therefore the website allows users between this age range.

That's in terms of puberty only. Besides there's the question of maturity, which someone has already mentioned.

This site is not just about puberty, its about teenagehood and getting teenagers talking together.

people who joined here that were 13 6 years ago are now 19 and still use this forum. I see no problem with that

Lets expand a bit :P
This site is called VirtualTEEN.
Our age rule allows thirTEEN year olds to nineTEEN year olds.
Thus, based on the pattern indicated above, it makes sense for our age limit to be what it is.

I'm going to say it even though the OP is banned. Girls do not reach full maturity at age 15. Men do not reach full maturity at age 17. Many ignorant people past ages 20 + are still very immature.

That's all linked in with puberty, thus it can vary wildly. He was flawed in the first place.

i know the age limit is 13-19 however i think that people in their early 20s who should be ok to post stuff too, it's a help forum... i'm 16 almost 17 now, but like once i turn 20 i'll be banned? then where do i go? this site has helped me a lot... and i don't want to leave this site, i know i have a few years, but still, time passes quickly.. i know VirtulaTeen, emphsis on the Teen, but 17-like 25 i stilll see them as young adults, or perhaps we can create a section for people 20+ idk... but if htye aren't causing troulbe and they are in their early 20s i don't see why we need to bann them... at least help them wiht their issue first... i saw a post by a 24 year old in there, and he was banned b4 he got any help, i agree with him, it's a help forum...yes for teens, but people in early 20s arent adults yt... they havn'et reached the maturity level of an adult. at the least if it isn't open for people above those ages, we should make a website for htme and post it on this site.
the person was banned... i htink this should get locked, however before someone locks this can they just respnd to what i said pelase

Try reading announcements and FAQ's..
If you joined before you turn 20, you can stay when you are 20+.
A few members are above 20.
By that time you'll probably find that you don't need/want to be here any more.

Sorry if I'm bringing a thread back from the dead (but I only replied to threads posted within the "new post" link...so...
Remember, like Reglus said well...the name of the site is Virtual TEEN and anyone with an age that contains the phrase TEEN still remains a TEEN.
Also, girls aren't necessarily "adults" at 15...if you're referring to puberty even. Yes, they mature sooner...but some as late as 17-18. Boys can be even longer. The penis, the last thing to fully mature, can grow until your early 20s in some cases...
I do have an idea though. Maybe make a forum dedicated to specific age ranges (13-15, 16-19) and enforce it simply by allowing access based on the age you enter when you register. As you get older, the forum allowed could change. Also make a dedicated boys forum and a dedicated girls forum, which already exists...but put limits on it. Like "boys only" and "girls only". I saw this done at some other forum and access was granted based on your gender and dedication to the site...

There will always be people whom, seeing that, would decide to misrepresent their age and/or gender for the sake of accessing a forum.
I don't see the point of having age-specific areas, either - 15 and 16 really isn't that huge of a difference. If members wish to seek out others of the same age, they are always free to make associations amongst themselves. Most general discussions could honestly benefit from open participation to persons of any age and gender that can contribute constructively.

Sorry, but they aren't going to change their rules just so one person can join. Not unless that person is Barack Obama, but that would be a much more different situation.....
