i've recently been diagnosed as depressed, even though i've been depressed for two years now. my parents don't seem to care about it, considering they've won't let me go to my psychologist anymore. he says we don't have the money, when all of it goes to beer and alcohol and cigarettes for my parents- literally all of it. we're about to get the house and car taken away. and we're also $20,000 in debt with my grandparents because my dad can't pay for anything. those are just some of the reason's i'm depressed. today, my parents told me i was a mistake and they didn't care for me. so i ran away to the park up the road, and one of my friends eventually came and helped me calm down. but that proves my parents don't care. my brother is bi polar, and started out just like me, since this has been a problem since before i was born(my family issues) and he's siding with my parents on this, so i don't want to talk to him. i don't know what to do anymore. please say you guys can help me

I also have depression. and it is hard to over come. but you dont need professional help. just talking to a friend or i also found that writing in a diary helps alot. and as for your parents, i dont know excalty what to tell you but i do know you are not a mistake. No child or human being is a mistake. you were put on this world for a reason.

I'm terribly sorry to hear about your family and the hardship you are going through. Find a friend, one you can rely on to talk to. It doesn't have to be a friend, it could be a teacher, school counselor, friend, your friends parents, anyone. Don't keep everything bottled up inside: it's not healthy. Take a deep breath when you're feeling overwhelmed. If you feel that you can't trust anyone or you're completely in doubt about everything please call 1-800-273-TALK, it's a national lifeline that is confidential and free. It's not just a suicide helpline, but for individuals with emotional distress and similar cases. The individuals at the other end have a lot of knowledge and advice. They are there for those who feel they have no one else or just want someone to talk to. I wish you the best of luck hun, please PM me if you have any other questions or concerns. I'm here to listen and help you if you need.
