why is it that mods are so quick to lock posts that are bumped from like 2-3 weeks ago, meanwhile there are several posts that are bumped from like 8 months ago and they dont get locked?
i'm not trying to call anyone out here, i just find it interesting how that happens so often and I was wondering what the reasoning behind it was.

Threads which feature no new posts, three months or later, are considered old threads, and posting in them would be considered bumping.
However, in the puberty section, threads which feature no new posts after four weeks are considered a bump if posted in them.
A thread "dies", or no longer receives posts, for a reason, probably due to the answer already being established.
Exceptions include, Survey or poll threads and if the thread creator bumps the thread, it is not considered a bump.
If you feel that a thread needs to be locked that has been bumped, please use the report button.

sometimes diary mods dont actually feel the need to lock threads in diaries
so we wont
but on the main forums
mods will lock bumps

Forums with low activity (like the Psychiatric Ward) are very lenient on bumping threads but in places like P101 where threads are often repeated frequently they have a lower tolerance.

.
It's actually threads that have no new posts for 30days or more are considered bumped if posted in in all forums.

Not really some parts of the site that don't have much activity we do let them go up to 2 or 3 months before locking them. However if you guys are unsure then go ahead and report it that's the best way for us to see them.
