First off let me tell you what I'm thinking about,
And all I'm thinking about is last night,
How you told me straight out what's on your mind,
It really got me going, I'm not gonna lie:

You said let's reassess this situation
Before it all turns to a mess,
And we're forced to confess
That we never addressed
What our love really is.

So I said to you:
Let's readdress
The fact you're obsessed
With who is best dressed
And who's having sex,
Let's reassess the fact
That just as often as you're impressed
You're depressed, you get so upset,
It makes me forget
How wonderful you really are!
How far we've gone, into the stars!
I wonder why we ever tore ourselves apart,
Now we're back to where we started at...

You want to know what's on my mind,
I'll say it again, things aren't fine,
If you can't stay with the one guy
Who truly cares for you, doesn't use you
Like the others do, I don't intend
To screw and leave, I intend
To please, to please!

So let's readdress
The fact you're obsessed
With who is best dressed
And who's having sex,
Let's reassess the fact
That just as often as you're impressed
You're depressed, you get so upset,
It makes me forget
How wonderful you really are!
How far we've gone, into the stars!
I wonder why we ever tore ourselves apart,
Now we're back to where we started at...

Let's just confess, I'm an emotional wreck,
You're a lovesick mess and we can't take this fluorescing
Tide against our will again, we want to feel again,
But we don't know what love is and
We don't want to believe that we are meant to
Fall to pieces in each others' arms,
A false alarm, you thought it was my pensive charm,
But maybe you just read me wrong,
I swear to God I love you for who you are!

So let's readdress
The fact you're obsessed
With who is best dressed
And who's having sex,
Let's reassess the fact
That just as often as you're impressed
You're depressed, you get so upset,
It makes me forget
How wonderful you really are!
How far we've gone, into the stars!
I wonder why we ever tore ourselves apart,
Now we're back to where we started at...

So why get so stuck on who gives a fuck?
When all that you should be thinking about
Is me and how I am so damn devoted to you!
I'd never leave your side unless you told me to,
And I'd only do it because I want to see you smiling,
I'm a riled up romantic soul I won't give up,
But I will not let you fall again!
I'd have myself topple over in
Order to prevent you from
Falling apart again,
Apart again,
Apart again...

So let's readdress
The fact you're obsessed
With who is best dressed
And who's having sex,
Let's reassess the fact
That just as often as you're impressed
You're depressed, you get so upset,
It makes me forget
How wonderful you really are!
How far we've gone, into the stars!
I wonder why we ever tore ourselves apart,
Now we're back to where we started at...
But I don't mind that,
No I don't mind that.

I really like this; I assume it's a song with the re-occurring chorus - forgive me if I'm wrong!

Just a word of warning; make sure you don't get your "your"s and "you're"s mixed up. You're = "you are", yet in this piece you're replacing it with "your", which doesn't make sense - e.g. "your impressed... your depressed" - should be you're.

You've also gone for a few clichéd ideas, which isn't necessarily a bad thing - but I reckon you're easily capable of a few more observant, personal images. It can help illuminate an idea when you're using well known concepts to underline them, but be wary that it doesn't become overused. This concept of superficiality regarding "best dressed" and "sex" are very common ones. Try and draw on other images to express the same point if you can, though I appreciate that might be difficult if this is indeed a song.

Finally, I'm not entirely convinced "You're a lovesick mess and we can't take this fluorescing" really makes sense. Optical lighting doesn't really seem to be very relevant lest it be used appropriately within a description. Applying it as a whole description doesn't seem to work. Just food for thought.

Anyway; good piece irrespective of the form. Well done!
