I got my period 1 year ago and it was very irregular at first. where I would go 3 or 4 months at a time to get my period again. It has started to regulate to every month. Then the last two months I get spoting that is anyouying enough. I have that for a week. Then a week later I get my period which is (I know gross) heavy and distracting for another week. It takes up too much of my time... I am getting fed up. Is this normal. Anything that I can do to prevent it???

Though irregular periods are common, it's always a good idea to talk to your doctor about it if your periods last longer than 7 days or if your period had been regular and now suddenly is different. Some medical problems (such as hormone imbalances or clotting disorders) and other things (such as stress or too much exercise) also can affect periods. Prolonged or heavy bleeding can lead to anemia — and you don't want that. An evaluation by a doctor can help determine the cause of any possible problems.
I know it might be emmbarrasing to go to the docter but they can help and just might give u some ways to prevent it!
Hope this helped
PM me if you wanna talk about it some more! (:

I've experienced irregular menstruation when I was 12 but It was completely normal...if you're stress or just so tired it can also cause irregular periods...but just go see the doctor to be sure and less worries, you'll be fine :)
