So, yesterday, I went to my first counselling session. I was really scared :cry2:, It was really hard. But the lady who I'm seeing was real nice; her name is Julie.
So...I told her a bit about how I've been feeling, how long it's been going on for. At first, it was really difficult to start talking, but after a little while everything just started to come out.
I feel so relieved though. That someone is actually willing, actually there to want to listen.

Im glad your first session went ok :) There are a lot of people willing to and want to listen, its just finding the courage to tell them. Its good to hear you're feeling a lot better about things. Is it going to be a regular thing?

Yeah I'm hoping it will be a regular thing. Julie's given me six free sessions; she says that it's standard or something like that, because her normal sessions are £25. I'm glad I'm getting some free ones, 'cuz I'm out of a job at the moment.
I hope it will help me, because this Christmas, I think was really the turning point for me. I was in such a mess. I attempted suicide, and I ended ringing up the Samaritans.
I need help, and I think that this is the way to get it.

That's very true, and tbh i think you've done extremely well. I hope the future sessions go well for you, and if you ever need to talk i'd be happy to listen :)

This is a really positive step to take hun and its not an easy thing to do. You should be proud of yourself because by taking this step you are on the road to recovery. I hope you keep going to sessions with Julie and I hope you benefit from these sessions alot. My PM box is open if you ever want someone to talk to :)

Thanks everybody. I really do hope that it helps me. Anyone who feels that they need or want to start seeing a counsellor, or they want to ask for help I urge you to have a go. I know that it may seem easy for me to just come out and say that, now that I'm seeing someone, and I know that it takes a hell of a lot of courage, but I do think it will really help.
