It looks good... See, the problem right now is that the server loads are getting up past 2.5 constantly until so many people logout. I think it's due to subscriptions. See, almost everyone (with the exception of a few I had to change) has it set to subscribe to every thread they reply to. That's incredibly awful with as many posts and members as we have on VT. If we had a better server, it wouldn't be a problem. Not until we hit over 1000 active members daily :P

I think that before we even look into this, we should think about disabling subscriptions, since about no one actually uses them. :?

Yeah I have no idea what these subscription things are or made much use for them.

i havent a clue if this is anything to do with subscriptions but anyway, you know when you post in a thread the way a little tick would appear so you would be able to see if you posted in it, has that gone?

Alex, it's working for me. In the default theme, Forever Blue, in the middle of the thread status (showing if it's read, unread, hot, or locked), there should be a black dot if you've posted in it. That's from what I've interpretted. I haven't read through the entire FAQ yet nor the vBulletin manual thingies. So yeah, they still work. I don't think that you can disable them :P

And Andy, we'll have to look into it more... Just allow some time for discussion.

yea it was a graphic i think, cause it would appear when i made a post in a thread. if this is making any sense!:P

Well, I know of a little white graphic that appears in the thread viewing. It's like three small blocks; kind of looks like *.* except with squares. Though it appears to the left of the thread's title. The unfortunate thing is, that graphic simply notifies you that a new post has been made. If you are viewing this now, you probably have already missed it (but you MIGHT be able to hit the back button and still see it). Anyway, just keep in mind, this applies to the Forever Blue style. :P

what are subscriptions?..
You can subscribe to a thread. This allows instant, daily, or weekly notification through email. Also, you kindof subscribe to the thread when you post in it. You can make the option to email informing, but you don't have to. I'm active enough to were email's too slow! :P And if you're away from VT, if you want a specific topic to be sort of "watched" then you can go to that topic through the email messege. Also if you're browsing the site and it gets heavy traffic, if you have a messenger, it'll notify that you got a message while you're busy browsing the forums.
You can also do this with PMs too. (Kiros also told me about how the Who's Online page sometimes refreshes, so you can just keep a window open for that instead of a messenger. I use that when the auto-refresh works :D)

Now the reason I say just posting in a forum is kind of like subscribing to it is that it shows up on your user control panel. I'm swamped because I was gone for...a week about? :P

My thoughts on this idea of Andy's...no comment

The subscription service notifies you through messengers too?! O_O
I've never known of that... could you double check it? lol

Yes it does :P See, your messenger can be is set up to instantly notify of new emails (which is the default setting). If you set your subscriptions to instantly notify you of threads that have been posted in or personal messeges, then the messenger will pop up (if you have your status set to online instead of away, busy, ect).

This shouldn't even count as a post, but I'm too lazy to not click Post Quick Reply...

=X Kiros! :ban:

And what you don't belive me? Well at least that's how MSN messenger works. Yahoo messes with my system and I haven't had time to install Skype. I'm not sure if AIM does it, because my AIM account isn't set up as my main email address :D

Oh yeah, and this is off topic. I forgot what this thread is even about! Sorry :( in fact,

To be honest, Andrew, I'm not sure. I'll look around for a MOD or plugin that's compatible, but I'm not sure if I will find one. Also, I'll have to get the OK from Josh and Francis before anything happens.
