Have any of you guys had to get an STD test? Does it hurt?

Would you mind telling us what you're being tested for. As far as I know there is no one definitive test for ALL STDs, only for a small number or certain individual STDs.

Depends on what you're being tested for.

HIV and most other diseases are tested by blood. They give you a blood test. It doens't hurt. It's just a small needle they use to take blood from your arm or hand.

Some are tested by taking blood, other urine samples, others actual samples from inside or around the penis. None should hurt, although if something does need to be inserted inside the urethra I can't imagine it being a particularly fun experience.

From what I've heard it's just like drawing blood at the doctor. Don't they also have it as a urine test these days?

Talked to my dad about it today. Apparently it'll be a blood test, urine test, and a swab. It's the last one I'm worried about. The stuff I've seen online ranges from absolutely worst thing ever to pinch to not so bad....all this because I made the mistake and was honest with my parents....blah

with a few exceptions, it's a blood draw. virtually painless. depending on what they are running they may have to take a lot of blood or very little. you'll be okay.
