A poem on the coming of summer after a long winter.

Illumination

Frozen layers of waves
sky high, fly by.
Bare branches tug on
notes out of songbirds.

And the sun, a silhouette,
Rests an embrace on
comforted shoulders.

Blossom floats through
thought and imagination.
Soon.

Soon, leaves will caress
the calm seas of above.

Soon, humanity leaves
its confines of cement and brick.
And grey, replaced by colour,
paints happiness on children.

Soon, the world becomes
animated.

Excellent composition, though technically spring comes after winter. :/

Thank you, you're very kind. :D

Thanks, but the fact that spring comes after winter is included in my poem (you'll notice I mention blossom), and the "coming of summer" in my introductory line can be synonymous with spring. Oh, and the fact that spring comes after winter doesn't contradict the fact that summer ALSO comes after winter. ;)

But thank you for taking the time to read and comment, it's much appreciated!

wow. My insight to this would be that it is the dulling down of life. "And the world becomes animated" almost as if it becomes a mundane pattern. We forget the free spirit of life, the true meaning of life. If life is so mundane, should we become nihilstic or should we strive to find meaning in the meaningless?

Wow Mark that is quite the reading you've given there. Incredible how words can mean so much in so many different ways - thank you for your insight. Fantastic. :)
