my dad suggested that i get coucilling and i think i'm going to do it, because he thinks i need help. he said i might have depression, but i'm not sure, that's why i'm going to do it.

the only problem, is that i had coucilling before at school, and that women just blamed the whole thing on my mum for causing all the crap that caused my self-harm, and wanted to talk to her about it, but i wouldn't let her. she said she needed my permission and i never gave it :P

is coucilling outside school the same as inside school? or is it completely different?

It's completely different. I think most in-school counselors are extremely judgemental, and they think they know what they're talking about. Reality is most of them jump to conclusions too quickly, it's annoying... if you want to discuss it further, PM me.

in-school counseling can be very different. often you are just one of 3000 students they need to deal with, and jump to conclusions like chelsea said. out of school counseling can be either equally bad or incredibly good or anywhere in between. it really depends. the point is, you have a better chance at a good counselor out of school.

i believe that it's completely different. Not only will u have more time to talk with them, but they can diagnose and help you cope with anything that you are going through just be completely honest with them because they are only trying to help you. I'm really glad that you are seeing one because that means you recognized that you may need help and that's a step in the right direction. PM me if u need to talk
