Suppose I want to delete a post, can I do that(I am not saying I want to do one, just curious) or at least delete a thread created by me?

Nope. PM a mod if you want a post deleted. But it has to be for legit reasons.

I think we should be able to delete our own post without going through having to PM a mod. *shrugs* just my opinion

Yeah and then people would be deleting posts left and right and threads would stop making sense.

You have the ability to edit your own posts which means you can delete any text that you change your mind about. But you cant delete an entire thread. The mods wont necessarily delete a thread just because the OP asks for it, otherwise they would constantly be getting requests to delete threads anytime the OP didnt like the answers.

I think we should be able to delete our own threads if we want to.
I know some people ask stupid questions and then regret posting the thread sometimes.

that ability was revoked due to misuse, like, eons ago.
There are very legitimate reasons why regular members can't delete posts.

I don't understand how deleting posts could be misused? I mean, your only deleting your own posts that you regret making in the first place, you wouldn't go around randomlly deleting posts...
