Yea, as the title says. How can I make it a bit less boring? I look forward to only 1 lesson (Business Studies as I like that kind of shit and I have the perfect teacher), maybe 2 with French as I moved up to top set and have a good teacher and work that isn't too easy. The rest make me want to sleep. Tomorrow (Monday) I have French, B. Studies (good good), double Geography (ZOMG TEH BORINGNESS!!!!11! I can't even listen to music in it as my new headphones don't come until Tuesdayish), IT (okish) and French again. This isn't actually too bad but the rest of the week apart from Friday is shit. How can I be more motivated and whatever? I'm in my first year of GCSEs which are important. I did a Science multiple choice exam on Friday and I think I did ok but I know I could have done better. I want to learn, just that it is sooo boring. Help please? Thanks.

Realize that, although you're not going to be able to connect meaningfully with everything you study, putting forth effort is something you're required to do anyway. And just do it, disregarding the fact that you like this subject and hate the other.

The more you focus on an experience, the more it becomes intensified.

On the other hand, if you feel that good grades is an effective motivator, try that as well.

I know you hate most of your classes but that doesn't mean you shouldn't do your best ;)

Well I'm usually sleeping durning Math. But in the other classes I just think to myself, "It's not like I'll be here forever. Few more hours and schools over"

And I play with my iPhone once I finish my work

Day dream. Also it helps to doodle on paper. If you're artistically inclined that can also be a life saver. Writing letters is helpful. Hopefully graduation is near. School is important but it's not a make or break you kinda thing like so many people tell you. Many of the best minds in the world were bored in school........

In life you going to have to do things that you dont want to do, but in the end pay off so sometimes you have to improvise, adapt and overcome your obstacle. i hate my job, but if i dont do it i dont make money. just motivate yourself because you have to think of your future you need education to do anything in life its main priority. hope this helps in some way of motivation. om me if you need someone to talk to

Thanks guys, your advice seems fair enough. At the moment all I do now is look at the clock and see how long it is until break, lunch and the end of the day. I've started drawing on my hands when I'm bored now which is kind of fun but makes my hands look weird. Oh well.

For those classes that are boring, try to think of the concepts in a way that is interesting so it may be less boring. If you like business, then try to put the concepts in a business-like example as best as possible. It may not work all the time as I've had some classes but in university where I fell asleep due to boredom (sadly in the first few rows >.<) or really felt like it. My way of being awake is doodling and pulling some pop out of my bag to drink so it may refresh me and make me more awake. If I know a lecture will be especially boring, I'll take a few energy drinks to it and when I begin to feel tired, I'll drink some if pop doesn't help.

If you have a friend, then see if they can lend you the notes if and when you day dream away or fall asleep part-way through.

If you have no motivation for something then you won't have any interest in motivating yourself if that makes sense. What I'm saying is that you just need to find a way to enjoy it more, perhaps just talk with a bunch of friends through it but don't let it distract you all.

Just think about exciting stuff. The bell ringing. Lunch. Summer. Enjoying time with your friends. Basically, school is there to weed out the slackers in life. If you're one of the kids who can get by with drawing during class and cramming before tests, then more power to you. Doing that won't get you far in AP classes and college, but for the time being go for it (i'm not sure about schooling in London, maybe you guys don't have AP).

I like to doodle in notebooks or do other homework during classes where the teacher doesn't care. In the end, it'll benefit you to pay attention in class. However, if you can get by without doing so, then go ahead.
