Yep, and there's UEFA too - Union of European Football Associations

Its most definitely football. Simple question, what game gets played at the football world cup? Obvious answer, football.

I call it soccer, for the simple reason that "football" for me is and always has been Gaelic Football.

I've always called it soccer because, to me, football is American football, a.k.a. the NFL.

When I'm with any friends I call it soccer because when I say football they think I might actually like American football. When I'm around relatives I call it football. Because it requires use of your foot.

I know the proper name is soccer (association football) but to me it is football (you use your foot for the WHOLE game, not just for those penalties or whatever you Americans have after you get a TD. I support Crystal Palace, an English team based in South London, right near where I live.

Yeah admin is not as bad as I thought. We only lost Victor Moses, Simon Jordan isn't in charge any more, there are people interested in buying in the club and we found out that Neil Warnock is a greedy coward. Happy days :).

Despite being and growing up mostly in North America, I call it football because it's always seemed like a more fitting name than soccer. I the NFL stuff American football. I'll use the name soccer when others get confused but I prefer football, makes more sense to me.

Being from The United States... I call it soccer. Though when I do refer to it as football, I pronunciate it as others do 'fútbol'.

History lesson for the day.

American footbal is a different form of rugby, which is a form of British Soccer.
Soccer comes from "assoc" which was a shortened form of something for something in Britain a couple of hundred years ago. I don't feel like getting my textbook out to look.
