I was actually looking into getting a DS just for that game particularly. I was familiar with the classic Pokemon games my favorite one out of all i think was on the N64 Pokemon Stadium

In my opinion, pokemon deteriated after the first generation. The only good thing about the third generation was mudkipz. After him pokemon was dead.

Not true. I really liked Gold and Silver and they are mixing all of the games (Or so I've heard) into it.

Not true. Jigglypuff can be found where they originally were and on routes 34 and 35.

That little fucker was the best damn pokemon ever. I never wanted to evolve my jigglypuff. But I eventually had to to collect all 151.

sigh....i did it, i got soul silver. god dammit i just can't resist the games even after i was almost certain i grew out of them after months of not playing... my cousin came over this week and showed me it. i almost emmidietly grabbed my DS and started playing pearl by nightfall i already beat the elite four.... but i needed more!

By nightfall? Either these new pokemon games are not like they used to be or you just zoomed right through and didn't bother:

[a] talking to random citezens
[b] looking for treasure
[c] getting in random battles just for the sake of trying out new moves or to update the pokedex(if thats even the new ones)
[d] skipped past the random challengers that bother you.

If you did this. Then you sucked the fun out of the pokemon games. I caught all 151 pokemon on both fire red and leaf green. (By trading with myself :D) I maxed out the stats on a few of my pokemon. I was addicted. Which is why it upsets me when I hear people talking about other 400 pokemon that weren't in the original.

Pearl wasn't the funnest of all the games anyways, plus i'd already played it for like 30hours plus months before, i just kept training my one pokemon up through the final 3 gyms to about level 80
