Online sites

We all know about those online dating sites and what not. Well if your 16 or 17 and pretty much know what to look for and what not to. (I mean really.. if you are 18 its not gonna make much change, the only way you'll absolutely know about the world and people is experience).
At the age of 16+ or 17 do you think people pretending to be a little older then they are to be on these sites looking to see what kind of people are out there if the people around your age isnt your type?
Thoughts? Ideas? Rants?

I suppose the main issue I'd have would be if one is willing to lie about their age to purposely see who they may be likely go get, one also has to wonder if other things would be lied about to achieve the same goal. I'm not sure on dating sites how much on average people lie about certain characteristics but if other 16-17 year olds do this, then it becomes very difficult to determine if the person is genuine or not. If you're going to "sell" the image of who you are to someone, when that image is false, the end result is the people may get to know the lied about version, not the real one.

well if you are sort of impersonating an say 30 year old man on a dating site. As for your question i believe some other teens your age could be doing the same thing (which to me is gross) either way. i wouldnt do it if i were you

i dont think people should lie on dating sites. because they are giving themselves a false identity so other people think they are like that when thyere different... its just not right,
but i dont really like dating sites.

I personally do not like dating sites because a lot of them can be fake and quite gross people i personally prefer to go out in the real world and find someone that suits my fancy, but i guess to answer your question If you are curious about the dating sites and you make yourself a little older I guess it's ok to look, but don't touch, but i seriously do NOT condone it, it can be dangerous

dating sites are alright if you don't mind hooking up with fat chicks that lie off their teeth to boot.

50% of dating sites profiles are gerrymandered in some way
20% more are fake hooks to get you to subscribe
the rest are all completely off the handle

on the whole just like the real world, so do what you want.
