Help guys!
Im trying to finish a school project, and word keeps crashing when i get to the screen to put the file in the right place to save it in.
Its due tomorrow and i still have more to do...
any ideas on how to fix this.
I run Word 2007 and the autorecovery still has the file, I just cant officially save it.

Can you save any other document without any problem? If you can, open the document, slick save as, and it should save.
Otherwise, the only alternative would be to copy and paste everything into WordPad. My guess is that a file somehow got deleted from word, thus the program has to be re-installed.
I'm sorry that happened to you.

Open the registry editor (Start > Start Search, type regedit). Navigate to the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Office/Word/ and rename Addins it to OLDAddins. Then navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Office/12.0/Word and rename Options to OLDOptions, also rename Data to OLDData. Then navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Office/Word and rename Addins again to OLDAddins.
Restart the computer and then test it out.

Best thing to do atm is open the file, then copy and paste it to word pad. Save it in rtf, so you know you've got a copy. as for word, try going to control panel, uninstall, and click repair on microsoft corporation. It should fix your problem

Exit all Office programs.
Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Continue.
Locate and then click the following registry subkey:

On the Edit menu, click Delete, and then click Yes.
Exit Registry Editor.
Restart Word.
