Ive lately been limiting my food intake to 500 calories a day is that bad. if i have anymore then that. i make myself sick. i fear putting on even 1 pound in weight. even though my bmi is 16.5. could this develop into an eating disorder. or is it one already?

Yes, that's bad.
That kind of fear is unhealthy, to say the least, and you're already underweight.

You're falling into that trap of an ED hun... i think you knew that though, since you posted.

Honestly, you need help. You cannot carry on with eating habits like this otherwise you'll run the risk of dying from them.

We cannot say if you have an ED or not, see a doctor.

I am afraid to say that you are already suffering from an ED. Furthermore you are underweight.
Get an appointment with a professional immediately and sort out your problem.

If you don't get help then you run the risk of dying from these eating habits. Are you really prepared to do that to yourself, to your parents, to your friends?

Considering you're controlling your calorie intake because of fear and make yourself sick, and also considering you're supposed to get roughly 2000 calorie's a day and you're aiming for a quarter of that - I'd guess that you do, and that you know you do. Though obviously, a doctor will tell you better.
This is a mind over matter thing. You can do this, it may take a lot of work, but you know there's nothing wrong with eating an extra 100 calories.. say once a week, or once a fortnight you add another 100 on to the total you're 'allowed'.
Your body needs it.
If it REALLY bothers you, then instead of making yourself throw up... exercise! Burn it off and get your heart beating. It's far more healthy and your system will enjoy it. x

Having an Eating Disorder is much more than just being on a diet. An Eating Disorder is an illness that permeates all aspects of each sufferer's life, is caused by a variety of emotional factors and influences, and has profound effects on the people suffering and their loved ones. Eating Disorders are about trying to make your whole life better through food and eating (or lack of). Eating Disorders are about seeking approval and acceptance from everyone through negative attention.
