You mean, when you hover over the IE icon in the taskbar & it pops up a preview of each tab? Then, no, not for a specific program.
If you meant something different though, do tell.

Uhhh.... O_o
Could you possibly provide a screenshot of what you're talking about? As I'm at a loss as to what you /could/ be talking about.

Go to options and go to options, then click the tab button and all the settings are there.
Click "When a new tab is open it goes to:" Then select either homepage or blank page. If you need a screenie il do one for you

That will permanently make it not appear each time you open a new tab (Well, until you expand it again.)

If you want to just not have that entire page show up, do what Aaron said.

1.Tools>Internet Options>Browsing History>Delete>Delete
2. .Tools>Internet Options>Browsing History>Settings>History>Change days to keep pages in history to 0.
Hope this helps.

That won't help. ;)
As the Google toolbar keeps track of visited sites differently than IE does, so clearing your IE history, doesn't clear the history that the toolbar has kept.

@ the OP.
Click on the wrench on your Google toolbar (It's on the far right side).
On the bottom of the window that pops up, uncheck the checkbox 'Enable the Google New Tab Page'.

Yeah, no problem.

You had me confused at first, because I was like "That's totally not a feature of IE8... O_o " :P

Thats what I was thinking as I was reading the posts and looking at the pic going...

"Wow now either IE copied, safari, chrome, firefox or Opera. xD" - Then again, thats their style, steal and share :P
