So I'm trying to watch a movie on my PC and I go to Computer to access my DVD drive. Well, I right click on the drive name and Windows Explorer just froze on me. I tried putting the DVD in and then accessing it via Media Player, but that just froze Media Player also. Does anyone know what might be causing this and is there a way to fix the problem?

Sounds to me like your DVD drive is going bad (At least the DVD laser part of it is).
Do any other DVDs work in the drive?

Yes, other DVDs work in the drive, so it must be something wrong with the DVD I'm trying out then right?

Could be, does the DVD work in any other DVD drives/players?

It works in my DVD player just fine. I don't have any other computers at my disposal with DVD drives at the moment, so I wouldn't know.

Is the disc scratched at all?, I know a few of my discs have only minor scratches and will not work in my computer.

No, it's clean. I checked it in my DVD player again and now it won't play at all. So it might have been something wrong with the DVD (maybe a problem with encoding?).

Have you tried running the DVD on any other PC?
If it works there try updating your drive's firmware.

Could very well be, or that your dvd drive just doesn't like it, have you got the newest driver/ firmware for the drive?
