I'm with you on that.
Most people have issues believing that there is such as thing as a caffeine addiction.

If I don't have at least 50oz of soda a day, I'll get SEVERE migraine headaches, like to the point of needing to go to the hospital. It sucks, because I'd like to stop drinking soda, but I simply just... Can't.

I had a moderate caffeine addiction for a while, after having been a heavy coffee-drinker for several months to make up for a period of severe sleep deprivation. A day without any caffeine would result in extreme lethargy, regardless of how many hours of sleep I got the night before. It took a long time to adjust, through gradually reducing caffeine intake.

So, yes, I believe in such thing as a caffeine addiction; however, compared to most other addictive substances, the danger of a serious addiction is quite low, and its health effects not as paralyzing.

Your doctor's an idiot man.

what's relatively worked for me is to NOT try cold turkey. Unless you've got amazing self control and are good with dealing with the headaches/shaking and other crap, I EXTREMELY strongly don't recommend. If you can cut your intake by like half for a few weeks. then cut it in half again
Yeah, it's still going to be a pain, but its not as hard if you're still getting *something* for awhile.

Yeah, I don't typically go without but I know when I do I get a headache...and then consume more caffein to make it go away.

What my mom did to break her caffein addiction was mix caffein free soda with regular soda for awhile and then gradually put less and less of the caffein in until the addiction was gone.

If you say you have to have caffiene rinks every hour try going an 1 and a half or 1 hour and 15 minutes or whatever between drinks for a week. Then just start gradually increasing the time between drinks each week for however long it takes.

Drinking all them caffiene drinks really cant be good for your health, so good luck overcoming your addiction. (And maybe try a different doctor if you feel you need more help)

you do need to slow down how much sugar you take in but slowly!
you need to firstly mark on a piece of paper how many times you drink pop/coffee what ever, do this for 1 week.

next week, off every day take 1/2 a bottle of pop or use a smaller cup for coffee a day
like if you had 30 pops/coffee's in a week drink half a bottle less every day. so you're only taking in about 27 and a half units, do this for a week every day.

for every week lessen the ammount you drink by 1/2 a bottle / cup
it will take a while but it will work.
if you struggle one week then take 2 weeks, rather than 1 before lowering your intake further.

I think he should be more worried about diabetes than a caffeine addiction.

Yes, yes I do indeed have a caffine addiction.
Without a certain amount of caffine in my system I get migraines and headaches.
I need to at least have an energy drink.
The funny thing is, my friends know exactly when I need caffine :P
so they make sure I have some.

I went to the doctor many a time..they blame it on hormones.
I was like "yeah...okay...idiot" under my breathe of course :D

I'd rather have my caffeine in a small pint of nice strong Black Tea. Though I am not addicted. But I can never be in sublime condition if I don't take the small cup of tea.
