I'm new here, of course.
I'm still trying to learn how to use this, but I have been checking around the forums. I just wanted to say that there are some of the nicest people on here, quite different from other websites where everyone bashes everyone else! I'm glad I found this site and I hope to meet some great people here =]
I'll introduce myself, the names Heather, I'm 15, live in New York (USA). I hate parking lots and love looking at the stars at nights, when I can see them.

People rep you if they like or dislike your post. It's either positive or negative. But the more posts you make, gives you a higher chance of getting rep.

Yes its a way for users to communicate with each other, you wont be able to PM others till you have 25 posts (this stops spam from noobs) you will thought be able to get PMs. :)

Yes, as has been explained above, once you have made 25 posts you will be able to send private messages to other users.

My rep power is 60, what that means is that if I give somebody +rep because I think they've made a good post, their own rep points go up by +60. Rep points are not the same thing as rep power, which is a bit confusing. You can see how many rep points you have in UserCP. If someone with rep power 12 gave you rep your points would go up by +12.

Your rep power is based partly upon the number of posts you've made and also (mainly) on the number of rep points that you have.

If someone doesnt like one of your posts they can give you -rep, in which case you lose half as many points as that persons rep power.
