I used to enjoy visiting my grandparents. But I don't like them spending money on me. Every time they buy me something, I'd feel like my visits were burdening them financially. So I'd refuse their rather costly gifts disappointing them in the process. My visits are no longer enjoyable and I try to avoid going. What should I do ?

Well to me, I think it's better that you refuse for them to spend their money on you, rather than let them spend their money, and you not being happy about it, for example, not using whatever they gave you.
Or, just accept the gifts to make them feel better.
I would sit down and explain to them, "that even though the gift giving is nice, I would rather you not buy me any more gifts. This doesn't mean that I don't love you."
You can also buy them a gift in return, if you don't feel comfortable explaining that to them.

I have tried talking to them, but they just don't seem to understand that.
It;s not that they are poor, in fact they are among the wealthiest people in their whole area. But still I feel I feel very guilty by receiving gifts from them.
