Wonder.

My computer got a virus from Facebook. I know you've heard it many times before but this is more serious than you think it is. Right now on my computer whenever you try to go on to the internet, it brings you to a porn website. It's serious. That is all.

FireFox. Ad blockers. Problem solved.
Also, I'm online RIGHT NOW. Nothing is showing up in my anti-virus program. Obviously you must have clicked something by accident.
Wonder.

My mom is an anti-virus freak. She has 20 different blockers installed. There's millions of viruses, some programs don't catch some.
This is why you have viruses on your computer.
Anti-virus programs are meant to be run singularly, meaning, running more than one at a time can do more damage than good. Running a lot (Especially 20 at a time!) of them at once can cause them to interfere with each-other, and not catch everything, even deleting the other programs' virus definitions (What the program looks for).
It's kind of like using condoms for sex, you'd think that using a few more would be better, but using more can cause all of them to break, exposing yourself to untold nasties.
I recommend that you first remove the 20 'blockers' you have installed currently, and get yourself a good, strong security suite, something such as Microsoft's Security Essentials: http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/
And also make sure your computer is completely up to date with the latest updates from http://update.microsoft.com/

Macs are not immune from viruses. There are plenty of viruses out there for Macs.
And while were talking about UNIX based OSs, Linux isn't immune from viruses either.

I've been everywhere on the intarwebs. Never had a virus on my 4 different computers. Even on the one PC I had. To me they're near invulnerable.

Hmm... Viruses for mac... *googles* Oh look, fakes... The only "mac viruses" are viruses wrote to attack word files (along with powerpoint, etc) due to them being written the same by Microsoft (cause their lazy)
Trojans are the only real problem for macs, and will only happen when a USER installs it.
BUT! Back to topic peeps!
How do you know it was from FB? Is it the only site you go to? ...

I seriously doubt you got a virus, to be more precise, "Adware", from facebook.
Nevertheless, I would get some sort of antivirius, any spyware software installed. There are a handful of other possibilities as to how you got it though.

Macs can get viruses if somebody plugs in their iPod to iTunes with an infected song. Like a song they downloaded from Limewire which contained a virus.

There is a message going around with a link that if you click on the link it will bring you to a virus.

It's similar to the one going around on Msn too.
Someone will send you an IM whilst they're offline. It's a virus on their computer sending it randomly. It generally mentions something about Myspace, then takes you to a website where it asks you to sign in. If you sign in then the link starts getting sent by you when you're offline. The download starts, it's a tiny file with a tiny video or archive in. The file doesn't appear to work, that's because it's busy trying to destroy your computer system.

Facebook doesn't give computers viruses, it's the ads on the facebook page that idiots click that contain the viruses.

Exactly.
No offense but you have to be pretty dim (or just really not be paying attention) to get a virus off of facebook... They're pretty hard NOT to notice.

and 10 times out of, well 10 they are made for Windows, so thus they dont attack the mac, they just sit their waiting for the right time (code) and moment (When a user does something) and seeing how the code wont come along on a mac. It dont do much, but it can still pass it onto non-macs.
i dont think your problem is to do with FB.

While we're on the topic of new viruses don't open any e-mail titled, "Server status." or words to that effect. Companies are probably more likely to open this as they often have administrators send these e-mails but my little sis opened it thinking it was something to do with her PC and it obliterated the hard drive which I had to replace T.T

And I felt it was necessary to put this, my sister was on Facebook.
20 programs installed? Thats just stupid. Multiple anti-virus programs just conflict with each other, and it will do more harm than good. Also it's a complete waste of computer resources, it will slow it down a lot.
Just get one decent program, that will do fine.
Every single computer in the world got a virus.
False. I have computers that have never ever been hooked up to the internet.

In my opinion, just install Kaspersky Internet Security and that would be sufficient. Anyway don't click on those silly ads that are on Facebook and you will be safer. :)

Actually I know what he's talking about and I got it in a pm. People stupidly sign up for a site with their facebook email and password then a bot spams it to all of their friends. Seriously people if it doesn't say "www.facebook.com" don't sign in to it.

True but it can completely format the hard drive and seeing as it becomes near impossible to remove it makes the easiest option a hard drive replacement. I did try reinstalling windows but the program was pretty sophisticated and basically said, "not happening."

If you perform a low level format (You'll need a specialized boot disk or boot drive with specialized tools), followed by a high level format (the option you get when you install Windows) I can guarantee you that all traces of said virus will be gone.
Just sayin'.

Yeah, except some advertisements are disguised as real pages, which can get annoying. :/
