Why? Guys are shit at reading minds, if you want to go out with us why don't you ask instead of waiting for us to ask you? This isn't a completely random question BTW, this happened to people I know.

Or you could become better at reading people :P
I can read people pretty well, and I'm always figuring out who people like way before anyone else I know does. lol and I'm a guy. it just takes practice.
Also, technically the guy should take the initiative in the relationship..

Are we still in the dark ages? I dont believe it. A girl can ask a guy out if she wants, why on earth not?

I didn't say they couldn't.. Most of the girls I know see it as the guy's job to ask them out.

well girls can ask it aswell, but experienced male can always sense when girl want to go out with em. and even in case she doesn't want, he must be capable to make her want it :>

It is important to not put significance upon relationship during your early years...

Reading body language and taking hints is key. Girls give obvious signs and gestures when they like you, most of the time. As for girls asking guys out, sure "times have changed" but when was the last time anyone of you guys got asked out by a girl?

Nothings written in stone. Perfectly acceptable for either the boy or girl to ask the person out. It just depends on the people :D

Pretty much my sentiments exactly. >_> WHich is why I continue to remain dateless, I will never for my life be able to tell if someone is interested in me.

while this is the "traditional method"
girls will often ask a guy out, which i think is cool
i think that stereotype exists tho because guys are viewed as the "leader" in the relationship
not to say women can't be effective leaders, but that seems to be a roll predominately filled by men
just kind of feels natural i guess...
but feel free to break the mold :P

As a girl there is always a fear of being spurned and made fun off, if you went and asked a boy. I always want to be completely assured before asking a boy. Personally, I feel that guys are better in reading minds.;)

I think its fine for the girl to wait for the guy to initiate stuff like kissing or taking the first step from just friends to getting together as a couple but girls should have no qualms about asking a guy that their interested in out so he gets to know her better. Sometimes you need to take steps to promote yourself : )

They don't have to, its just concidered traditional, some people still see it as this way. Some girls would ask a guy out, others wouldn't. Guess it depends on the person.

Because its the mans job to do it, if you let the girl ask you out she might as well be the man in the relationship

I'm of the belief that males and females are equal, I don't believe in that whole crap about males being the strong protector in a relationship and a female relying on the male to look after them. I'm more than capable of looking after myself, and probably more capable than quite a lot of males around here. If I like a guy I'll ask him out, but half the time I'm beaten to it, because it seems guys are of the thought that if a girl likes you, you have to ask her out asap.
Also, for all those guys who believe in the difference between males and females, I'd say its time to change your mindset, because a girl can do anything a guy can do and vice versa.
And, just as a little thought, men can't live without women, you need us to reproduce, however, women are more than capable now of living without men and reproducing because of artificial sperm. So when you put it that way, it seems like males are the inferior sex.

i feel that, this only happens when you are younger, the older you get the less stereotypical this is.
I asked my boyfriend out.
I'm pretty sure I've asked all of them out.
But girls usually wait to make sure that we think they will say yes.

lolwut. Not sure if serious...
OP - It's usually seen as being more gentlemen if a man were to ask a woman out. I don't know why, but I find that both sides can ask the opposite out if they wish. I guess it's just more a rule of thumb.

Do you want babies with Down Syndrome and stuff then? It's not a normal way to have a baby and should only be used for couples that can't have children the natural way. Anyway, a world without men would be fucking boring. You would miss us.
