Lately I've been going through some tough things, and I know I haven't been myself. It's really getting to my best friend, and it bugs me. I don't want her to worry about it, or about me. I know she has good reason, given what I've been talking about, but feeling guilty about feeling depressed isn't going to help. So how can I convince her I'm fine? I'm not even talking about it anymore, but she still knows when there's something wrong. She wants to talk about all of it, but I know that there's nothing either of us can do and it'll just make us both feel really bad. I don't want to hurt her feelings, or make her feel like a bad friend, because she's not. She's been great to me, and stuck with me through things that I've barely stuck with myself through. But I'm tired of making her worry about me constantly, and I just want her to forget about it. What should I do?

If you guys are friends, she should be able to trust whatever you say, and be able to relate to you. If you tell her that you are feeling fine, and that you are not upset, explain to her that we are friends and you have to trust me.
Friends shouldn't keep lies from each other. They should also trust each other so if she trusts you, you should be just fine.

I always think that the best solution is to talk it out with whom ever there's a problem.
So, just talk to your friend about either what's bothering you, talking about thing makes you feel a little better, or tell her what you've said here;
"I know that there's nothing either of us can do and it'll just make us both feel really bad. I don't want to hurt her feelings, or make her feel like a bad friend, because she's not. She's been great to me, and stuck with me through things that I've barely stuck with myself through."
If she's a good friend she'll understand.

Thanks. :] Yeah, I think I will just talk to her about it. I didn't think of it that way.

Glad I could provide a new prospective. :-)
