I first got my period in 6th grade i believe on Jan 1st.
well, im in 10th grade now and i have NEVER had a period that came on the right date. I have a very irregular period.
Well, since its been this long, is something wrong with me?
My cycle doesnt even come close together. Sometimes i have a period once every 2 or 3 months. Is that normal?

I'm gonna guess by being in 6th grade you are around 11 or 12... I was told by my gyno that when puberty first hits your body is so out of whack on hormones....it can cause things like that to happen... give it some time...maybe go see your doctor and they can figure something out as far as time...I dunno

The cause of irregular menstrual cycle is mostly related to stresses, tension, ingested medications and caffeine, a substance that disrupt corpus luteum function or even act as anticoagulant blood thinners.
Remember that fluctuation in periods indicates the beginning of disturbance in the natural chain of hormonal events that manage menstruation.
Cigarette smoking is another reason for irregular menstrual cycles because it shortens the follicular phase. It also shortens the luteal phase if smoking is heavy. However, extreme alcohol intake is also a reason for irregular menstrual cycle.
Continued abnormality in period is also an indication of irregular ovulation and irregular menstrual cycle. If you notice this problem, then right away consult your gynecologist for appropriate treatment.
Your gynecologist will refer to your medical history and conduct a physical examination. As irregular menstrual cycle is treated according to the cause, it is determined with a blood test, ultrasound and biopsy.

I used to be exactly the same. I tried all sorts like keeping a calender of when I was in and counting days but it would never work, my periods were so out of whack, bane of my life. However, I went to my doctor and they put me on the contraceptive pill. I take the pill for three weeks, and during the week that I am off I have my period, I love the regularity of knowing when I'm going to come off and come on. I'd advise you if its a regular problem to just go see your doctor and see what they advise, but don't worry, a lot of people have irregular periods.

A lot of women have this problem, go to your doctors and they will put you on birth control right away (it regulates your period). make sure that you tell your parents that he put you on it to regulate this though if you think it will be a problem with them.

You could probably go on the pill to regulate it. It might not be that much of a big deal now, but when you start having sex it could be distressing if you don't know if your periods are late or missing.
