Hi, just curious to find out how other people self-harm. I have been doing it since about March 2009 and I usually use a pencil sharpner blade. The first time I did it was in Maths class when I stabbed a pen into my arm. I've been trying to stop and I haven't done it for about a week and a half now. Thanks for answering! :)

I would use all sorts of things. I used protractors a lot.
My friend would use razors. Sometimes a steak knife. Depends on what's available, and the closest thing you can find. When your mind is in that state, you don't really think clear.

I agree with the person above me. iv used razor blades, pointer blades, glass, stanley knives, bits of sharp metal, knives from the kitchen, my brothers ultra sharp carpentry knives and more

At the worst times i'd find anything that could do harm. Razors, Glass, Metal, Lighters. Anything. Same as August said, anything that would be available at the time.

Sharpener blades, Compass, Broken rulers, Screws, Safety pins, Razors, The Salt and ice thing, Lighters, Fists, Walls, Lockers. ECT.
In any frame of mind, whatever you have you use, whether it is dull, sharp or plain stupid to use, as long as it made you feel somewhat better it didn't matter what was used.

I used to use my maths compass always, but they kept dulling. So I became very methodical and took apart pencil sharpeners and used them....occasionally I've been so desperate I've torn down posters in school and at home to get little pins to use =/ But yeah, like above when you get in that place you use anything to make yourself feel pain, unfortunately.

Box knife or the razor inside of it by itself, a hunting knife, scissors and that's it but the thing that is the worste is the hunting knife by far it has been sharpened so fine that a little streak stings and makes it all feel better. I am trying to stop but Idk if I can....hope I can but as everyone else is saying what ever is available.

Actually if you express what you use but not which you think works best that works with the rules. And therefore is allowed. But informing people of the best way to cut breaks the rules. And therefore isn't allowed. Although people can see that if they read the same answer over and over they will think this is a better decision than what they use and therefore can conflict with rules. So it depends how you see it. But still i think a mod should go over this

From the self harm rules announcement:
Promoting self harm will not be tolerated. That includes sharing methods of harmful behavior and glorifying self harming.
Read the rules and announcements of each forum before posting. Thanks.
