So, what do you say, like, hate, meh, etc? My favorite band for some reason. Good music, good for heartbreaks. Shame they're on hiatus now. :/

I love them. I've got their old stuff as well as their new stuff. Admittedly, they have gotten worse with time, well...imo anyways...

It's one of the bands that I can't ever see myself not liking. =]

:P, Varying mileages. :P *Even though it's too early for them to get a 'greatest hits' album, new songs on there are good.* How old have you gone back?

I think I've got as far back as 2003, possibly 2002

*Album terms will be easier* So, Take This To Your Grave or even FOB'sEOWYG? mm, TTTYG till now, I have. Even Believers Never Die *only CD version, how stupid...* You can't seem to find FOB'sEOWYG anywhere nowadays...

They've gotten really bad over time no offense.
Their old songs like Dead On Arrival I like, their new ones (Example I Don't Care) I despise.

I guess they had this gentle genre shift. I only got onto this proper ie buying album from Infinity On High *Dance, Dance is the first song though.* I suppose I can understand why some think they suck now. But if a band develops, you don't like it anymore, I guess it's fine. Developing is a part of growth, remember? Either that, or they mention heartbreak less?

I'd say I like them, they have a lot of good music though they have some bad (but what band doesn't?)
I have all but one of their albums (Infinity on High)

I absolutely hate them.
Seriously, they are one of the bands that make me so fucking angry. Lol.
I feel that their music is so bad it's disgusting.

Well I like em. Listened to Infinity on High the most (it's the only one I have). One of my favorite tracks is The Take Over, The Breaks Over.

I like their music
Especially I'm Like A Lawyer With The Way I'm Always Trying To Get You Off (Me & You) , Grand Theft Autumn, America's Suitehearts, and A Little Less Sixteen Candles, a Little More "Touch Me".

But, I believe that they are a little over-rated.

One (or more?) from each, I'd say:
TTTYG: The Patron Saint Of Liars And Fakes
FUTCT: Dance, Dance + XO.
IOH: 5 fave tracks (!) But I've Got All This Ringing In My Ears And None On My Fingers is the best.
FaD: West Coast Smoker + Disloyal Order of Water Buffaloes
BND (well, the new track) :"From Now On We Are Enemies". Alpha Dog is a close second.

They're not that great, not completely terrible but certainly very over-rated. The singer shouldn't sing, the lyrics and sound have so little diversity, and more often than not, the sound of the songs are rather poor.

I know I asked for it, but hey. Green Day's much worse at being overrated. *Maybe I'm biased, I hate them, but point still stands*
Tell me 20 Dollar Nose Bleed has the same sound quality as Golden as "From Now On We're Enemies" as Saturday as What a Catch, Donnie as I've Got A Dark Alley And A Bad Idea That Says You Should Shut Your Mouth (Summer Song) as I've Got All This Ringing In My Ears And None On My Fingers. No really, I dare you. :)
Point being: No, they don't sound the same. You just haven't felt it.
But still, carry on, opinion's fine.

That they are, but I like Green Day. I never liked Fall Out Boy that much, but they were an occasional band for me. Kinda strange hearing them breaking up, but I guess that's what happens.

Point being: No, they don't sound the same. You just haven't felt it.Sorry, I just had to make my own point on this. Not everybody listens to music and derives a feeling out of it. I myself have done this on occasion and I still do; but I don't listen to any band and think "I feel something here." It's on rare times that I do. If you ask me, a majority of Fall Out Boy's songs do sound the same. But you can say that of any band past or present. The point being that not everyone's ears are the same and no one has equaled tastes.

Apparently they're not anymore, hiatus again :/
Fair enough. I can feel the slight genre shift though. I dunno how to explain...

Undecided band likes to be undecided.

It's not as much a shift in genre, but experimenting with the genre to see how far you can go. That's how I see it anyway. Musical experimentation leads to great things.

Yes Green Day is over-rated but that's irrelevant.

You're right, I may have not felt their difference in songs, however, I've heard a few of them and of those few, they were pretty bad. Like all bands, there are some songs that are different so you have a point there but my point is from the songs I've heard, those ones had little difference in sound, which leads me to conclude the rest don't either.

However, coming on here and telling someone that your view, presumably because you're more of a fan of them than I am, is correct or superior to mine is not something that will get you anywhere, especially when you're willing to receive comments from people who don't care for the band. It's subjective, your view has the same weight as mine, to suggest otherwise can only be done if somehow you have objective, empirical results. Since I highly doubt you do and that any exist for this band, we're back to having the same weight on our opinions.

:P, Meh, Argumental I am, I guess. I need to improve on that. Do tell me what have you listened to. If it's the singles, I'd say, they are not that good most times. One thing they can't do is choosing singles. Maybe they want their signiture sound on the singles, while not thinking, what if people don't like them and like the others instead?
I do get bored after a while, though. I need new music/band.
