I'm struggling to build muscle, and be flexible, and you know, relieve joint stress, do you think yoga is right for me? for those of you who do yoga, have you ever hurt yourself doing it? do you recommend daily stretching? and is it easier to just function after you do it?

Yoga does really help in relieving pains, mental strains, building muscles(if you consider certain postures). It is the most cherished form of exercise here in India. If done in proper manner under a yoga guru you won't face any injuries.

I recently started taking yoga classes and so far I love it. It really does help to relax you and is great for toning & strengthening your muscles and increasing flexibility. I really don't think you can hurt yourself because a good instructor wouldn't make you do something that's really "dangerous", but if there's a certain position that you really don't think you can do - be smart and don't do it yet. You might need to build up your strength more or something. Hope I helped. (:

Yoga is a great way to stay fun and flexible. And it's always making me feel more relaxed.

I would also like to ask....and I dont want to be sexist, but is it seen as girly? I want to do it either way, i just dont want it to be public if I'm going to be made fun of for it....

I don't know about other countries, but here in India more men do yoga than girls.
