Because we all know that the world and society does not show kindness nor general happiness.
Are you one of those people who tries to see the positive outlook in life?
Personally, I find such mentality to be ludicrous.

Yeah I've always been a firm believer that optimism is naiive. And annoying. But I'm not pessimistic either; I find that to be equally annoying. I'm realistic and, on a bad day, bordering on existential.

Well...
My outlook on life is hard to explain, but... here goes...
Depending on my mood, I'll have either a positive (believe it or not) outlook or life, or a completely blank outlook...
I have those days where my head is tripping out (not from drugs....) and I question the reality of life, whether or not it's a test... I tend to do stupid things on days like that (I stapled my finger once... i don't know why... I was just curious to see what it looked like... It didn't hurt... :P) but otherwise my outlook on life is incredibly strange.
I try to look at it from a third person view... which messes with my head... But like... Most of the time I look at life from a surreal point of view (yes, i know what surreal means.) or a positive view... its pretty much what gets me through the days...
By a positive view I don't mean I walk around with a massive grin on my face and a "AHMG LIFE IS SO WONDERFUL" way... I mean from a more elaborate sense, I'm attempting to understand what makes us important... Why one life is so important to another, mental and physical links between people, why our minds have developed so far infront of other things...
I'm also looking for a religion that feels right... *shrug*
But thats me. (:

i have positive views. i know it's not easy, happiness in general is quite hard to find, but considering all the things, the way i live, all the good and bad things happening, i don't find it negative. everything's comperative, i do live better then others, but there are also others who live better then me. people are never satisfied with what they have, wanting more then one has is a human nature, but we all have to find our own happiness, things we find it really worth of living.. idk how to explain any deeper, hope u got what i mean :)

My view, lately, has been pretty negative. When I'm talking to people, or when I'm at school, I'm pretty happy and positive. Yeah, I'm one of those people that laughs at everything and is always smiling. But then when I get home, everythings negative again.

I hate people who are always positive about life, but then again, being too negative can also be just as bad.
I think what is needed is balance between the two.
I do have a serious/negative outlook, but I also have a positive outlook too, unfortunately, the pessimistic side of me comes up quite often.

well, no matter how much i try and think positive on life, it just turns negative, too many things have happened for me to see any good in this world, in people, everything positive in my life, turns to hatrid in the end, which makes me see life more negative each time one of these things happen, i push everything good out of my lifee, especially friends, they're on my side, but i just dont belive it, teachers, try and help me, but theres always an excuse to hate them, i find something to turn against them so i dont have to speak to them..
Suckss i know, but thats just me.. so yeahh.. pretty much a negative view on life for me:D xx

I have a balance between seriousness and optimism but my optimism shows out more than anything, but sometimes i have negativity like when it revolves around a choice i have to make i always think I'm going to make the wrong one and screw everything up then have what ifs in the back of my head for a long time....currently i do

I am a cynical idealist. But conceptually speaking, my personal philosophy borders between absurdism and nihilism.
In my understanding and experience of existence, I've realized that I don't like it one bit; but a small part of me refuses to give up believing in the possibility of transcending our limitations, and stepping into perhaps a better way to be.
It seems that the popular myth is, that all pessimistic people must be gloom and doom all day long, and do nothing but complain about how horrible everything is while doing nothing at all to change the undesirable, thereby making themselves socially unattractive.
I follow what is considered a 'negative' world view, because it feels compatible, and in many ways, is comforting in its own way. It is never my intent to impose these beliefs on others; if someone wants to be blissfully all smiles and sunshine every day, go for it, as long as it feels right to them. As for me, I have found more strength and closure here than I ever had in the countless years of attempting to practice optimism.

Yes, let us all be apathetic about life.
