Hey guys and girls, i need some help. I will soon be asking a girl out that i have liked for awhile, and I'm pretty positive she will be saying yes. For the date I would like to go out for a nighttime picnic, i already have the spot picked, a place where i sometimes go longboarding. Its at the top of a mountain with almost nobody around, and a great view of the city lights, however, I'm a 17 year old guy with no culinary skills. What should i bring to eat? It's nighttime, so a dinner would be best with large portions so she doesn't go home hungry and dissatisfied on the first date. However, im trying not to break the bank, as it IS a first date, and who knows where itll go, so i dont really want to do a restaurant takeout unless its something fun like we stop at several different places and get several types of food for the different courses. (but then the food might get cold =/.

Any input? i planned on making either brownies or cookies for desert, but for actual food im at a loss. Also, this is a night date, so playing frisbee and stuff is out of the question, so i thought i might bring my large screened laptop and hdd with a bunch of movies that we could choose from and watch.

Anything you think i might be forgetting as well? Blankets, drinks, entertainment, spot.

I would just get a pizza. Even though it's not really fancy, like you want it to be, it's simple and cheap. Probably some soda and some potato crisps to go with it.

As far as desert, after you eat, I would go out for ice cream. Making a dessert would be nice, but its more romantic to go out for dessert. This is also relatively cheap.

Bringing a laptop to watch movies on is also good. I can just imagine how cool this date is gonna be.

Make sure your parents are ok with it though.

Maybe something like this: http://chicken.betterrecipes.com/lemon-chicken-with-roasted-garlic.html

It's simple and quick. not to mention most people will eat chicken.
I'd say make sure you big a big plush blanket and a few pillows.
I'd say bring Water, Sweet tea, and apple juice, those are the most commons non-fizzie drinks.

Feel free to steal my idea, or whoever had the idea originally that i "stole" it from.

I'm bringing a Large comforter and several other blankets. =]

Its a toss up between sub sandwiches and pizza. I like pizza because its easy and warm, and subs because she can have it her way, and i can have it mine.

I was thinking Chips, and a fruit salad with subs, chips and pasta salad with pizza. Lemonade, water, and a couple different types of sodas.

I wouldn't especially like to go out for dessert afterwards because of the movie. If we start it after we eat then it might be weird going out for icecream afterwards. If i bring it i can start the movie either before we start eating or after dinner before dessert. That way we can enjoy brownies/cookies/whatever while the movies starts/plays. One thing i can do is maybe go to Coldstone/grocery store beforehand with her, we get some icecream, put it in the cooler, then we have icecream with the movie. It IS night though, and while im in arizona, it can get cold at night. Plus will the icecream melt at all when in the same cooler as the drinks? just one filled with ice?

I'm pretty sure that if the ice cream is kept in a cooler, it should be just fine.

I'd say go for pizza. Sub sandwiches are usually what you eat for lunch. But that's just mine opinion.
